Vasectomy...

Conveniently scheduled mine for the first day of the tourney...doc's orders to sit on couch for a few days...

Who's had it done? What am I in store for?

It's easy and the best decision I ever made.

Procedure takes under 10 minutes and the worst part is the numbing injection. Recovery is pretty easy... a couple days of discomfort.

The strangest part is going back a month later with a sample to prove there are no live swimmers!

My biggest question going in was would it change any sexual sensation or desire and the answer for both is no.

What Ari said to the letter. No issues. Grab something cold and enjoy the tourney. Best move you could make once you are sure you are done having children

I haven't slept in 4 years, and having 2 boys is a blessing considering all we went through. My number hit twice and I'm cashing out a very happy man!

Bro in Law suggested scheduling during tourney. Feeling like this is the right move as I only want to sit in front of the TV those 2 days anyway.

It's not too late...I scheduled just last week. The receptionist laughed "Oh, you got March Madness eh?"

My dad did it in the late 1960s, and I and my 3 brothers all had it done. Not a single issue.

However, my brother in law had it done, and never went back to check. That son is now playing basketball for Casa Grande.

His wife said, forget it, I'm going down.

That is a brilliant idea as to when to schedule it btw!

Rest your cold beer on your lap and enjoy your recovery!

Funny story about mine, they let my wife watch the procedure and no she is not a medical person. She was just interested (or wanted to make sure I really did it) in how it would be done.

The shots were no fun and when they were pulling on the Vans Deferens it felt like they were pulling out a hundred feet of it but of course it was like inches she said. Cut, heat and sew up then tuck it back in LOL

My doc said that he doesn't allow anyone in the room, cause he had a wife pass out and then he had to make a choice on what to do...

I had the option to go to a surgical center and be put under....but I chose to "man up". But really, I am a giant pussy when it comes to anything medical (which is even more comical considering my wife is a NP).

I have every good reason to go forward with this and every bad reason not to, yet I'm still reluctant to get snipped. Why? Anyone else have these feelings before their procedure?

Nope. I was happy with two kids (a boy and a girl) and I was ready to be done. Never regretted the decision.

I have two girls and both the wife and I would like a boy, but the jump to three is not just in costs for education, food, clothes etc, but concerns about minor things like needing a bigger car, waiting longer at a restaurant for a table for 5 vs 4, an extra plane ticket for travel, etc.

Plus we certainly arnt assured to have a boy should we try again and in-vitro sex selection is a non- starter for us.

So we'll likely stop at two which we are more than ok with, but I'm still hesitant to go get fixed.

Maybe I should stop using the vet terms. Lol

Had mine in 1993 after 2 boys (86, 88) then a girl in 93.

No regrets, not even for one second.

Went well...I did have one minor scare a while back when I noticed a bump, but the doc felt me up again and said it was a fluid build up that can happen post surgery...

Wife and I took care of it soon thereafter...

I am a happy father of 2, which is perfect in my eyes and I don't regret it for a second. Also, I barely remember the 1st round exit game as I was drugged up, so that works too.

Happily cut since '15. Two healthy daughters with two exes/baby mama's was PLENTY for this starting to get old man. Easiest procedure ever for me. The only thing I didn't like was the smell when the incision started. I was like, "Doc, that burning smell..."

"Yup. It'll be over soon."

And it was, thank heavens. I could've driven myself home even. & I VERY MUCH enjoy shooting blanks too.

I have a friend who got snipped and still had another kid. I wonder how often that happens?
