For those of you that live in Tucson apparently there's a press conference at 3:30 this afternoon with a major update in the case per the mother. This was definitely the largest missing persons type case that I remember in the 12-13 years that I've lived in Tucson

I always felt that a family member was involved in her disappearance. Sounds like the police were given information on her whereabouts. I am guessing someone who knows what happened just couldn't keep it a secret anymore.

What was the case again? I don't remember it and would've been in Tucson at the time.

Little girl on the east side went missing from her home. There was a lot of speculation the father was involved and rumors or the Cartel.

TUCSON - The Tucson Police Department announced Friday, Sept. 14 that they will be holding a news conference Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to announce a major felony indictment.
The Police Chief, Sheriff and County Attorney are all expected to speak.
The News 4 Tucson Investigators have learned that this news conference is much bigger than it sounds.
Multiple sources have told the News 4 Tucson Investigators that this joint news conference has to do with the murders of Isabel Celis and Maribel Gonzales.
Sources say it involves a major development in these cases.
In April of 2012, Celis was reported missing from her midtown home.
Tucson police, FBI, U.S. Marshals plus other law enforcement agencies searched for the 6-year-old.
Five years later, her remains were found in a remote area in Pima County.
It was in the general area where 13-year-old Maribel Gonzales' body had been dumped two years earlier.
The two girls lived near each other, both went missing and their remains were found in the same vicinity.

I, for one, now feel very ashamed for having those same thoughts about possible family involvement. Perhaps they can find it in their hearts to forgive us.

Put him in general population with the rest of the inmates. They will take care of him.
But I imagine he agreed to be in protective custody for life if he showed them where he left the other girl.

Court records indicate he has a lengthy criminal history spanning multiple states, including a 1998 conviction on two counts attempted sexual penetration with a foreign object in Oregon.
