Announced tonight that Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa bought out all the seats on the flight around the moon. He's a mostly art collector and fashion website guy. But apparently in 2023 him and his like 6 artist friends will spend 6 days flying to the moon and back. I wonder how much training they get and if any actual astronauts are coming with them.

for the next-generation BFR (politely known as the Big Falcon Rocket)

Guess we all know what the impolite wording would be.

Was hoping these flights would be at Vandenberg, which is 20 miles or so from my house, but looks like Florida.

It's supposedly mostly automated and they'll really be primarily tourists just along for the ride.

So 50 years ago we celebrate getting men to the moon and the discussion is to go back. Why not just roll out a Saturn V and use the same formulas/equipment with vastly superior technology?

The only thing I can think of is that we are really looking at creating a space flight that could go to mars
