Hipster Coffee Shop needed to escape my cats

So this is as pathetic as it sounds . . . but I can't get any work done on my laptop because my cats are assholes. They sleep and sleep and sleep, then as soon I as bust open the laptop to work they agitate the fuck out of me until I give up. So, are there any decent coffee shops to hang out at and work, New York style? I'm guessing there are a bunch near campus, but that's a hassle. And when I'm near campus teaching in the fall they give me something resembling a private office/lounge to work in. Anybody have any leads on cool places North of campus (dare I say in the uncool Northwest side)? Please help before I kill these bastards.

Cats are evil. They guard the gates of the underworld. They're lazy, vicious, and filled with the wretched spirit of hideous women.

Haha, yeah they can be assholes. But as much as I travel I can’t really have a dog. I’ve learned to love them. It’s not hard really; other than this single issue, my cats are actually on the angelic end of cat asshole spectrum.

I guess I’ll head to Starbucks when I need to work.

I almost bought a house that would have been a 3 minute drive from there, just east of Randolph golf course. Too bad. That’s the main problem with the northwest side—too many Karens and Beckys and the kinds of places that cater to them.

If Cats guard the gates to the Underworld it’s only because they snuck up on Cerberus as he was coming down the stairs, tripped him maliciously, and he died in the fall.

BJBJ, keep your head on a swivel. In fact, move into the Starbucks and just let the cats have the house.

Bulllllsssshit! Cerberus was only stunned. The fanged and fury swine then tortured him like a broken mouse. Bloodied and trembling in pain and shock he was unable to respond to further cruelty so they ate an uninteresting fraction of him and left the majority detritus as a comedic offering to an unappreciated food handler.

Cats are concentrated evil. They should have been cast in Time Bandits!

Man, is that part of Tucson coffee central or something? I should have moved into that other house. I’d have plenty of places to escape my apparently evil cats.

Nice, those are great options.

Coincidentally Repp McLain Design+construction right next to Presta—I follow them on Instagram.

All of these are good and I would add Raging Sage as well. If you like French bakeries, Ghini's is good too

Whoops. Didn't see you were interested in Northwest Tucson. 22nd St. and Swan is far from NW.

On a side note - 22nd and Swan looks so worn out and run down (both in comparison to NW Tucson and other areas)! I don't think it's changed substantially since I moved out of Tucson in the late 80's. But Big Heart has good coffee and is good for work and study if you're on that part of town. And it's an independent local business, which I prefer. Good luck!

I don't know because I drink too much coffee in those places and have to pee too often. Every time I go to the bathroom, I have to pack it all up so it doesn't get stolen, and then my seat is gone when I come back.

But if you find a place, post a little sign on your table that says, QUIET! I'M WRITING. Wear a turtleneck. And gesticulate your thoughts to yourself while waving a spoon in the air. You'll meet women.
