Probably more that the Compton Magic don't want to be it uber obvious that they steer their most talented guys to Adidas programs. Give it a couple of years and we'll see them ship most of their talent to Bobby Hurley.
Part of the Compton Magic "funnelling" is because of David Grace. He has close ties to the program. If Adidas wanted to steer guys to UCLA, Brown would have been at UCLA this past year
I didn't say Adidas was steering guys, I said the Compton Magic were.

Apparently didn't have a high enough SAT according to someone on Twitter.

UA has of course a much easier acceptance policy than UCLA.

So I'm guessing he can now run up and down the court more than four times before desperately fouling someone in order to get a whistle and taken out of the game? What diet was he on at UCLA? All French fries all the time?

He didn't play as a frosh.

LA Times:

Bolden averaged 4.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season, starting in 11 of his 31 games.

No, he didn't play as a frosh, but he did play last year. Bug said he didn't, which is wrong.

"Mentally, I'm always the same," he said. "With the experiences that I've had here the last three seasons, I have a strong mental game. I don't worry about that. I can start a game missing who knows how many shots, but I have the confidence in myself that I'm going to end up hitting shots. It's just about finding good ones."

Kevin Love matches Russell Westbrook's record donation to UCLA:

The UCLA athletic department said Love's unspecified donation announced Tuesday matches the amount Russell Westbrook gave last December, which was the largest by a former Bruins basketball player in school history. In return for his gift, UCLA's strength and conditioning facility, to be located in the new Mo Ostin Basketball Center, will be named for Love.

nice, ucla is going to have a love muscle facility on campus.

in related news, former bruin josh smith made a nominal donation to the ucla athletic department, despite transferring to g'town. the josh smith feeding trough is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in fall 2017.

He's the only Power 5 player to average 16.1 ppg, 5.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds and shoot under 40% from the floor (in fact, he has never shot over that mark in his collegiate career).

Bryce could find his niche as a 6th man this season, if he can be counted on to knock down a couple quick threes off the bench. If he's given free rein as usual, it'll get ugly for them. They have too many high percentage shooters now for Bryce to be chucking 15 to 20 shots per game.

He aint giving up that alpha role and neither is daddy. He's the coaches son who ruins the chemistry for the rest of the team, we have all played with one before. And he loves to show up when they play Arizona.

Bryce Alford has spent three years as the starting PG. Daddy will try to split PG minutes between his baby boy and the golden child. In truth it should be Aaron Holiday starting at point (the kid can score, pass, and defend... more than you can say about anyone else on the team) but sadly he'll be the man relegated from starting to the bench this year. Alford playing Lonzo off ball will be amazingly horrific to watch, as Lonzo can't shoot, can't defend, and doesn't know how to operate in a half court set or really do anything without the ball in his hands.

They're fucked.
