Why is Duke's win over a sucky Wake Forrest team such the big story on ESPN?

I feel like I need to have this quote handy at all times...

Just asking. Even as I type this, after the big Kansas win at Kentucky and the amazing 4 point shot that saved Baylor, headline story at the home page of ESPN.com is "Comeback victory shows it's too soon to count Duke out" with a photo of Duke players making big monster faces.

Maybe Duke can be a 7/8 and we get them in the 2nd round. That would be fun

And shockingly, Grayson Allen with yet another dbag foul in that game! Can't wait till he does this to the wrong guy and then loses his front teeth.....karma is knocking at his door.

When we bulldoze them will the ESPN headline be, "Duke Soars!"?

I just read that headline, and the very next one which was also about Duke beating mighty Wake Forest. ESPN is so far gone they don't even realize how absurd their coverage is. Got any better sites? Unfortunately I don't even though I'd like to switch.

Just lost a lot of respect for Roy Williams with his quote below.....Allen's a thug IMHO:
http://www.zagsblog.com/2017/02/07/roy- ... roportion/
Ahead of the big North Carolina-Duke game on Thursday night, Tar Heels coach Roy Williams came to the defense of Duke junior guard Grayson Allen.
Williams said the scrutiny Allen receives is “way, way, way blown out of proportion,” per the News & Observer.
“I see him trying to get over a screen and everybody here try it,” Williams said. “You put all your weight on one foot, what does your other leg do? It goes back. So I see all those things. I think he’s a wonderful kid who he himself, and Mike (Krzyzewski) himself, has said has made some mistakes.”
Allen has been involved in multiple tripping incidents and this season received an indefinite suspension for tripping an Elon player. That suspension ended up lasting one game.
Carolina point guard Joel Berry also chimed in on the media’s coverage of Allen and on Allen walking through the N.C. State huddle during a recent game.

I don't... and I hate Grayson Allen as much as the next guy.
I think he is simply an opposing coach who is trying to take the high road. What ulterior motive could he have? No one hates Dookies more than the Heels...

It is blown out of proportion, but so is everything else about Duke, so I'm shedding no tears for the kid or the program.

Roy is def just taking the high road.
I don't think the Allen situation is blown out of proportion ENOUGH. All the evidence and he's been suspended what, a couple games total over two years? He should barely be allowed near a basketball court again. Blacklisted from the sport entirely. I'm all for playing rough and gaining an advantage but what Allen does is super bush league. F him, F coach k, and F duke.

Any other answer creates bulletin board material for Duke. Roy would be stupid to give any other answer. I don't see any reason for Roy to create a distraction leading into the Duke game.

Understand not wanting to give your rival bulletin board material but thought Roy went overboard with his defense and praise of Allen.....of course we are also talking about UNC and when the hell is the NCAA going to come down on their corruption?
Just my opinion

Bagley out for the 4th straight game. I smell conspiracy. He has a mild knee sprain and it's getting close to the end of his college career, think he sits the rest of the regular season.
