Josh would have to take a $1 million dollar pay cut to go their.

Given Capel's crash and burn at OK, ASU is as good a spot as he could land. His only other option is to be a Duke assistant coach until people forget what happened in Norman.azcat49 wrote:Thought Howland took the Mississippi St job? The Lavin talk was just boosteer talk in my office. The ASSU color guy, Kyle Dodd was sayng this morning he still thinks the Capel rumors are true and it is his if he wants it. IMO that would be a terrible hire and a career ebder for Capel although he could definitely get several years to be mediocre
Yeah, but no coach wants to be "fired". The same way that nobody wants to be turned down for a head coaching vacancy so they "take their name out of consideration".ASUHATER! wrote:Josh would make far more money having a terrible 2015/16 season at Memphis and being fired than he would taking the asu job.
That's what their team looked like this year (at the beginning of the year I remember thinking they might only win fourish games with their miserable lineup), but Herb molded them into something resembling a college team.Gilbertcat wrote:2015-2016 ASU Men's Basketball team:

Exactly. He was suspended indefinitely by Sendek and expected to transfer no matter what.gumby wrote:Who?Katzenfreund wrote:
This happens with pretty much any coaching change.ASUHATER! wrote:So in 24 hours they''ve already had a transfer and lost 2-3 2015/16 recruits, at least one of which was actually a pretty good 4 star player. I bet they have at least one of the 4 returning starters transfer too. whoever they hire might make them into an OK program but for the next 1-2 seasons they're going to be pretty terrible
Mike Moser, Abdul Gaddy and Jeff Withey can agree with that sentiment. Solomon Hill too also decommitted. Jerryd Bayless also left a year earlier than planned.Chicat wrote:This happens with pretty much any coaching change.ASUHATER! wrote:So in 24 hours they''ve already had a transfer and lost 2-3 2015/16 recruits, at least one of which was actually a pretty good 4 star player. Not even a cup of coffee in the NBA for the first 2, and Jeffree is averaging 7 minutes a game with New Orleans.UAEebs86 wrote:Who?Merkin wrote:

He was granted a rare 11th year of eligibility because playing for UCLA is considered a hardship and gets special dispensation from the NCAA (please see "Josh Smith").gumby wrote:Has Mike Moser's 10-year college odyssey come to an end?
It just feels like that because he's fat enough to occupy multiple years simultaneously.scumdevils86 wrote:I was blown away when I saw Smith playing for Georgetown. I thought he played at UCLA in like 2007. I guess not.

At the time, Abdul Gaddy looked like a huge loss, but he really was disappointing at UW. We definitely could have used Withey.Merkin wrote:Mike Moser, Abdul Gaddy and Jeff Withey can agree with that sentiment. Solomon Hill too also decommitted. What's the deal with the PAC looking at Dookies?Gilbertcat wrote:On XM/s college station they had a guy who feels Buffalo's Hurley is in the lead right now. Also said no way on Capel.
Asu rivals board has been dead since about 2008. Scout and cactus ranch are their only real boards. Considering how big their school and alumni bases are, their online presence is tiny.Puerco wrote:ASU Rivals board is dead. About three posts in the past two days since Sendek was fired. Pitiful.
Does Rivals not even care any more? Between the death of Goazcats and the ASU board and the rise of Scout it's like they have given up.ASUHATER! wrote:Asu rivals board has been dead since about 2008. Withey (if everything else remained the same) would have meant a likely national championship in 2011 and a secure tourney berth in 2012. Of course, changing the past (as Marty McFly knows) can send you on a very different course, but Withey was the one that really would have affected our course.az91 wrote:At the time, Abdul Gaddy looked like a huge loss, but he really was disappointing at UW. Unless Lavin keeps Keady as an assistant. Then it's a do over and a comb over.azcat49 wrote:Yup. Capel or Lavin would not be a step up. It would just be a do over
There's a reason he's been back to being an assistant for what, four years?gumby wrote:
