JT Barrett

Post by Chicat »

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I have to be reading this incorrectly...
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- In addition to a one-game suspension, Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett will also lose his scholarship for a term as part of his discipline for his arrest during the bye week, Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said Monday.

Meyer said he reviewed the facts from the citation for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and backing without safety. He was stopped at a Columbus police checkpoint early Saturday morning.

An Ohio State spokesman confirmed to ESPN that Barrett's scholarship would be forfeited for the 2016 summer term.

Okkkkkkkk. That seems to say as punishment he's pulling his scholi for the summer term. Does that basically mean that, if Barrett wanted to take a couple classes over the summer for free he can't now, so he'll just be forced to go spend his summer out on the beach instead?

Joe back-up inside linebacker would have been kicked off the team.

Oh for sure.

Just like down at Baylor where the football coach recruited a transfer who was a rapist and then that player raped on their campus. If that coach had been coming off back to back 4-8 seasons = fired instantly. As it is Baylor just shrugged it off. Same for Pitino at Louisville.

This is in effect "fining" a non-employee. If he's on the team and participating, he should be on scholarship. If he's not on scholarship he should be able to transfer without penalty. Just my opinion...

I don't know. He wasn't drunk, but .0001 gets you a DUI when you're under 21.
