This Oregon game has been so strange. For 5 minutes in the first quarter Oregon looked like worldbeaters, then terrible for 35 minutes, then 5 worldbeating minutes to close the 3rd.

Disregard my previous post about Lobos. It's getting ugly. Jury is still out on Mich St., don't think there are any doubts about the quacks.

I know it's only a half, but how is Memphis within 7 to UCLA? It's freaking Memphis.

UCLA is looking very vulnerable. Just as we did. But honestly, I think UTSA is a better team than Memphis. And as we know, Wazzu is Wazzu.

Changed to my own preferences.
I don't think Stanford can scrounge up 10 points at home and not be classified as 'unimpressive'.

Almost losing at home to Memphis? That'd be like if we were close to losing at home to UNLV. Not impressed with UCLA, no idea why they couldn't stop the run, I guess Barr was pretty key for them?

Washington's escaped unscathed from two games that they should be able to win much more comfortably.

WSU is in full-on "Coug'd it" mode already.

Colorado lost to CSU, so their win vs. lil' UMASS doesn't give them many brownie points with me.

Oregon ran all over MSU, although looking at how the rest of the B1G did, maybe this win won't be so big in a couple of weeks.

Cal's improved. I don't know if they'll bowl, but they're improved from last year.

Utah's looked pretty good beating up on some mediocre teams. Looks like they're at least better than LY.

ASU's defense has ? marks. Offense looks explosive though.

OSU has not done much.

I don't know how good USC actually is. They inexplicably ground out a win better than Stanford, I just don't think that 13 points will be anywhere close to what's needed when they face the spread PAC teams.

I don't know about us. We rolled a bad team, ground out a win vs. a decent non-Power 5 Conference team away, but we've still got a young QB. I don't know how he's going to hold up. I'll need to see the next two games before I make a judgement.

Good takes qwerty.

What's becoming clear after these first two weeks: outside of maybe Oregon, there are no unstoppable juggernauts in this conference. UCLA is still good, but a "great" team would not play the way they have these first 2 weeks.

USC is hard to read. I do think Stanford lost that game far more than USC won it.

Hard to extrapolate how these teams will be playing when we meet them but right now the only game I won't be pissed if we lose is Oregon.

^This. Stanford was inside the USC 30 something like 10 times yet only had 10 points to show for it. Had Stanford stuck to its traditional smashmouth, conservative style of play and not gotten cute with the playcalling, they would have won this comfortably.

That chop block call was atrocious. The offensive lineman was not engaged when the running back took out the guy on the blitz. If anything, the o lineman was diving at the guy trying to block him. Took 7 points off the board for Stanford. Huge, huge call. Happened after Haden was summoned to the sidelines. Wonder if coaches will add that previously unheard of wrinkle to their game plan?

Regardless, Stanford shot itself in the foot so many times it was laughable. I thought we had red zone issues, until I watched Stanford. They should have beaten SC by 2 TD's at least. Tough, tough loss for the Cardinal.

Go Cats!!

EWU scored 49 against the Beavers last year. Vernon Adams is a stud. Eleven TD passes and almost 900 yards against two Pac-12 teams. And cramped up in both games.

Reminds me of Russell Wilson. "Too short," but can make all the throws and can run.

USC isn't scary. UCLA isn't scary.

Now we could still lose to both teams, but there doesn't seem to be a dominant team in the south.

4 yards rushing on 28 attempts through the early part of the 4th.

Their yards per rush on the box score shows as .1

That's...wow.

[And just for some more perspective, BC has 46 rushes for 343 yards, 7.5 yards per rush :o ]

So in the loss to BC, UCS gave up 451 rushing yards on 54 attempts for an 8.4 yards per rush average.
