B1G going to 9 game schedule, banning fcs games

Starting in 2016. All big ten teams will be forbidden from scheduling 1aa teams and are required to replace any fcs games they have scheduled in the future with a power 5 conference team. That and they are going to the 9 game conference schedule like the big 12 and Pac 12.

Love it.

Used to be you could only count a FCS game once every 4 years in the count to get bowl eligible, but now you can use one game every year, although some teams have scheduled 2 like LSU.

In 1997 there was only 35 FBS v. FCS games, now there are over 100.

I imagine UCLA and USC would push for it in the PAC, neither have ever played a FCS team.
