Is it just me, why in the hell is it when we play UCLA get ass stomp but when they ASU they some how struggle. This game is making us look so damn bad.

UCLA hung up 62 on them last year. ASU can tackle, that's been the major difference right now

I know that but it just makes us look so damn horrible to sit here and watch them(ASU) handle them like it easy.

ASSU going to beat UCLA. I've said numerous times the Bruins are not that good. That's why our loss was so bad.

ASSU actually has a D line that can play.

Thats because we are bad.

The consistency in the RR era is letting pedestrian QB's look like world-beaters.

3-3-5!

15-10 still ASU lead. I don't want to say ASU is a well coach team and well coach on defense but my gosh this is going to hurt us if ASU win this game.

It wouldn't say it let down because we play like crap against UCLA, It just that ASU is well coach team on defense.

UCLA is not as good as you all think they are. They'll have atleast 2 losses this year.

ASSU actually has a d-line that can go man-to-man with the Bruins. Something we don't seem to be able to figure out with our scheme.

ASSU is simply highly motivated. They were embarrased last week and for the most part all of this season. UCLA hung 62 on them last year so they have circled the wagons and are playing well.

We had 350 yards rushing last week but shot yourself in the foot way to much. Not sure the closeness of this game should be a big surprise. Our game will be closer than most think as well

You sure about that cat, The score is 22-10 asu lead and it seem that asu is kicking UCLA ass in all cylinder. It doesn't mean this game made us look bad because we gave up 42 point in the first half, if your saying that UCLA isn't good then why didn't we win the game against them in first place.

One of those 300 lb'ers is a true frosh coming off a devastating knee injury as a HS senior. The other one is a redshirt frosh...........who hasn't developed or even sniffed the field.

asu's DL coach is Jackie Shipp (who formerly coached the DL under Stoops at Oklahoma). He has clearly outrecruited his UA counterpart....and done a better job developing players. One thing asu has successfully done is raid the JC ranks for big DT's. Another factor is that asu plays a pressure defense, while the UA plays a passive bend but don't break defense that emphasizes preventing the big play (drop all the CB's/safeties 10-15 yards off the ball).

Interesting to note that in year 4 of Casteels D our top 2 DL's (Gilbert and Sani) are Stoops holdovers.

Remember how badly AZ lost the field position battle in the first half? This is what happens when you don't lose that battle. That PF on Phillips was a killer.

The only thing this game is indicative of is (1) ASU was able to step up in a do or die situation, and (2) UCLA is showing their true character and how, as only true LA douchebags can, thought they were automatically superior to their opponent.

People have seemed to ignore how a few big mistakes led to big field position swings and scores. We basically spotted them two touchdowns immediately. Then we lost anu.

But we suck and everything is Jeff Casterl's fault. Fire RR!

UCLA beats UA. Scum beats UCLA tonight. UA beats Scum in a couple months. Great circle jerk of the P12 South.

AZ gifted UCLA; any QB would've carved us up with the field position, opportunities, and cushion we gave them (especially with Anu getting knocked out like Million Dollar Baby on a fluke play - UCLA knew we weren't as explosive at that point, it was blood in the water).

Well an interesting take on our bend but don't break defense is surprisingly, we don't prevent anyone from making big plays or scoring a lot of points on us.

If the 3-3-5 defense was a publicly traded stock, I would be buying put options by the boatload on this turd of a D and making a killing.

I think that we all knew what happen when are offense cuff up turnover that lead UCLA scoring spree. If the defense did their job of tackling better and hold them to atleast a few FG half of the time, it wouldn't be a blowout out the gate as easily.
