He came out to his teammates last year, just hasn't been doing any interviews on the subject until now.

I guess he's a 4 year walk-on.

I wonder if he gets any playing time this year (hasn't in 1st 3 years)

If so, he would be the 1st openly gay active player on the field.

I don't have any issue with coming out, but voluntarily attending ASU is an abomination unto the Lord.

While hating on the Devils on the whole can't hate on the kid. Congrats on having the courage to come out.

My ASU buddy says he's like the 9th best OL on the team.

I say its totally cool to root for several injuries on the ASU OL so he gets a chance to play.

CTG actually pretty classy.

Won't sit well with asu's right wing redneck and Mormon core fanbase.

Here's hoping this tears the team apart from within.

Best of luck to that young man, though. Like others have said, this takes a lot of courage, I'm sure.

Hopefully his bravery will encourage other college athletes to come out. Someday we won't even bat at eye at this.

2. Frankly, while I definitely support the guy and think its great that there seems to be a culture change happening, I just have this feeling this was orchestrated by coach sweatbands for some positive press. He's that much of a weasel.

I just have this feeling that you are a moron. The kid came out to his teamates last year. ASU was already experiencing plenty of positive pub, meaning there was absolutely no need or motive for TG to push this for attention.

My only hope is that no dumbass UA student or fan says something awful that gets picked up by the media and all of a sudden we are Homophobe U.

I know this player and his family from work. They are a wonderful family and he is stand up kid. I support him and think he is very brave to do this.
