Of the guys that have played tonight, I completely agree Rhett is the best QB. He lacks arm strength but at least he understands how to play the position. Hurt or not, Tate provides nothing if he isn't willing to run.

Reminds me of the Jay-Z concert years ago that didn’t sell at all so they handed out tickets for free all over campus.

Why handoff so deep in backfield?

Fee free to break a tackle

Fuck these coaches are genuinely stupid. Need 1 yard against a physical defense? Hand it off to your smallest player.

Until we stop running little JJ Taylor up the middle on 1 yard to go plays I really don't know what to say. Surely we can think up something else besides trying that over and over without success. That USC debacle should have ended that all together, but here we are.

Ozark on Netflix. Nothing on Amazon Prime is as good.
Love Ozark. Bateman kills it.

He does, very impressed. However, the star is the actress who plays Ruth. Can't even remember a better character, maybe since Jesse Pinkman's first couple of years.

Fake punt when you're up by 25 in the 4th quarter with 6 minutes left? C'mon son.

up 25, 6+ minutes left in the game, fake punt?

yeah i think we hit that guy's cat or something cause he definitely doesnt like us if he's calling that bull shit.

he got lucky his punter didn't get his leg broken on that tackle too. horse collar tackles have bad results.

maybe one day we'll be good enough to return the favor to utah

Yeah it is. Grabbed the collar and pulled (well, he was diving but it's the same thing). There's no way they can let that go

Yeah, well, clearly the bar is very low for being a genius in football. Let’s be real, we aren’t talking Fulbright scholars here. Anybody with a modicum of critical thinking skills is suddenly a “genius” in an environment of otherwise dull-thinking, overpaid coaches. The rest of the coaching population calls Lilliput up the middle on 4th and short.

Think Mazzone wakes up at night with dreams of 2 yard bubble screens in his head. Glad we pay $800,000 a year for that originality.

Well we did beat Whit the first 6 or 7 years they were in the conference.

But that really didn't look like a called fake. The punter always has the option and will take it if it's there. Utah has done that the last few years with the rugby style guys.

i'm the first one to say that this team is woefully undertalented.

i'm also not one to let our coaches get a complete pass regarding their playcalls due to that.

mazzone is fucking horrible so far. i mean. fucking. horrible.

so is yates.

Completely agree. The repeated runs up the middle are killers.

I'm not disagreeing, not with one word. Biggest scam in college sports, awarding million-dollar deals to guys with likely CTE-impaired cerebrums for performances in 12 games. With five- to six-figure bonuses for a 13th.

Just saying that Arizona fans have been complaining about small backs "up the middle" on possession downs since Ben Griffith called the plays. And that was our SMART staff!

If this was the kind of football I knew I would get as a freshman in Tucson, tuition waiver or no, I gotta be honest: I would be out by May. Follow your dreams, not football.

He may not be more accomplished, but you have to think he is more knowledgeable. Staff doesn't want to run from the QB position. Tate can't or won't do it anyway so they might as well start Rhett for the rest of the year.
