Well he does have great talent and I guess they are hoping at some point the light goes on (and the intensity goes up)

Who the better coach for long term success?

Sonny Dykes or RR?

You can't ignore what Dykes has going on at Cal.

6 first downs and 102 total yards for the offence in the first half. A long night is in store for the CATS.

He would be great at Pima. To be fair, am more perplexed by our coaching staff. It seems as if they were putting thier apples in too few carts. If you don't have the personnel, at least exhibit some creativity.

As I watch Colorado tied with Oregon, I'm feeling very negative about even reaching bowl eligibility.

All the pregame was like Stanford 42-21 win, I was like how we scoring 21 points? All week felt like 48-10 to me.

For bitching and complaining about Arizona football, sorry I will never wear rose colored glasses with this program and not afraid to say it

This is year 4 under rich rod...unacceptable for our defense to be this bad.

Offense I get since ANu is not playing but even then I don't think our oline is that good and receivers aren't world beaters, basically nick Wilson is the only nfl talent on that side of have ball

The question is should we have hired Rich or Dykes? I still say Rich, his offense scheme is solid, but Rich hasn't had a defense in 10 years +, kinda living off the glory days of the big east right now on that front.
I honestly didn't remember them both being options at the time.

As for Dykes, who exactly has his team beaten this year?

Sean Miller or Josh Pastner? Since we're picking at that thread lol, football not worth talking about. Miller (though his offense needs to be a little more exciting, this year we might actually have some shooters so we'll see)

They're 5-0 but their best win is a middle of the road Wash team. He also has a 3 year starter at QB. Also he has 11 wins total over those 3 years including the 5 wins this year.

Calm down everyone.

Dykes has the #1 or #2 qb pick in the nfl draft on this team, that makes any coach look a lot better. Look at how much we're blaming RichRod, and he's got freakin' Randall out there right now for him, pretty sure he isn't going in the first round of the nfl draft.

We've beating nobody of note, but Texas? SDSU?

Maybe in years past those are great wins, but not this year. Together, those two teams have a whopping 2 wins. (sdsu is still playing a game as we speak, maybe they'll add another W).

UW only has 2 wins as well.

These aren't exactly great teams Cal is taking down.

Their undefeated results thus far don't impress me much.

I agree, as a team we're just shellshocked, schemes are bad now, we're running on backups everywhere, playing hard but not crazy hard to even attempt to win this game. Just get out here and regroup and try to get some wins against the bottom half of the PAC 12, salvage a little bit of respect, and beat ASU if possible.

RR by miles. 10-2 last year guys. Decimated by injuries this year. In the long run we will be ok.
Tui, I think the 10-2 record last year is exactly the problem. The reality is that it took a miracle to win the Cal game, Coaching stupidity to win the UW game, and the help of the Gods (we played UO with essentially their 2nd team OL) against the ducks. If we could re-run last year 1000 times we would end up 7-5 about 99% of the time. I think a lot of UA fans, and folks on this board, mistook a LOT of LUCK last year for being good or thinking we turned the corner..........We didn't

Cal is a billion times easier to recruit to than UA. RR/Dykes is not a fair comparison. Cal has produced a TON of NFL talent over the last 10 years. Its not like Dykes has recruited a defense to Cal either. RR > Dykes by a long shot.

The injuries have shown how poor our depth is. Hard for me to defend how bad we are from 2nd string on during year 4 of RR. I'm not saying it's solely on RR because our DBs haven't progressed, injuries have hit some non-starter contributors, and our defensive scheme.

It'll forever be difficult to get this generation of me-first high school kids to come and play DL for us while asking them to be double-teamed so the LBs can get the glory.

Can we cut off that Salsian pipeline?

I agree, but come to think about it Qb's are thin everywhere these days, hard to get 1 good one let alone a backup. Just too hard of position these days to play with the defense schemes and size of the defensive personnel. Certainly true in the nfl, no good backups there, and across college football even less so except for the traditional powerhouse teams.
