Alieberman wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 10:11 pm Why didn't Oregon take that 3?
That was about the dumbest play I have seen all season.

Took a punch…and punched right back.

Altman looked so bummed at the end of the game. Usually, they beat us in that type of game but not fucking this year.

Go suck it Ducks.

There is a reason they were preseason #13 and picked first or second in the conf.

They are good when they play tough but man they've been inconsistent.

To play that well in McKale while also getting their doors blown off in Tempe is just perplexing.

A little too little too late...6-9

ASU is not going anywhere unless they win the P12 tourney which I seriously doubt they can do...they don't play very well on the road...

Vegas will be an "Away" game for everyone but us.

Yeah, a win, but very much closer than it should have been. Some (more) troubling things:

Turnovers, yet again. Oregon got 13 points off our 9 turnovers in the first half. And on a number of the turnovers, we were lazy getting back on defense.

Free throws, yet again. With any kind of decent free throw shooting, the margin would have been around 10 points and wouldn't have come down to the last possession..

Rebounding, a new one. No way this team should have been outrebounded. That has been one of our strongest points. Koloko just let the ball get taken away a couple of times and another 2 or 3 times kind of just stood looking around while Oregon grabbed the rebound.

9 turnovers in the 1st half was bad, but they cleaned it up quite a bit in the second half. 13 total turnovers isn’t terrible.

Rebounding is the area that I believe could sneak up and bite us. I’m not sure if the problem is positioning or effort (or a combination). Sometimes it seems that the opponents shots are so bad that the rebound comes off awkwardly or way long. Maybe we aren’t anticipating such poor shooting.

I can’t understand the free throw shooting issues. Some guys that have good strokes and should be close to automatic just aren’t coming through like they should. I’m not sure that there is one player that I feel completely confident in at the line to knock down clutch free throws. Tubelis improving by 5-10% would be huge with how often he gets to the line.
