Dont hold your breath on Tucson, Miller believes that it puts us at a disadvantage by possibly being sent out of the west.

Did I miss something or am I just not understanding your sarcasm? I always enjoyed those first round games at McKale and wish we would bid on them

Sac->SJ->Phoenix.

Its like a CATS road show of recruiting grounds.

Love the 2017 set up, esp if I'm back in the Bay Area.

I would bet that if the Cats are a top seed in 2017 that the Round of 64 and 32 games would be in Salt Lake City

Why would SLC have the 1 seed for the west?

Sac would be a much better venue for the CATS to start a championship run. Esp given the history in SLC.

Broke ground in January of this year. Don't know the completion date. But being SF there will be no parking and the subways will be packed.

May as well have the other 3 regionals in KC, Omaha, and Wichita. It's good for me, as Denver is a cheaper and quicker flight for me. But it just seems silly to have the regional creeping east. If they don't want it in Cali, SLC would be a better location for the west than Denver.

Arizona cant play at McKale and if that takes one of the west spots Arizona has to travel far. Not good. And Tucson isnt going to support it so it is a lose lose

Arizona wouldn't travel too far or anything as there's two west coast sites. Tucson always supported the NCAA tournament whenever it was in town.

I bought tickets for some reason thinking I would go if U of A wasnt playing that day. Ended up losing money selling them. That doesnt sound like support

McKale Center hosted the first and second rounds of the tournament in 1979, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000 and 2005; the second and third rounds in 2011; and the West Regional semifinals and final in 1974 and 1980

Sounds like you were either a shitty salesman or you settled, either way that doesn't mean anything in regards to support. I went in 1997 when Tim Duncan and Wake Forest was playing there and the place was packed.

Hopefully the NCAA can still pull the Final Four away from San Antonio as Texas moves forward with this bathroom bill. And since the NCAA normally takes a hard line against discrimination, maybe they should be more cautious about where they locate tourney sites in the future.

Idk, the HRC thought the new North Carolina bill didn't go far enough and wasn't happy that the NCAA allowed NC back in. Hopefully in the future the NCAA is really going to stand behind their word.

problem from their point of view is domes are now the requirement, and how many domes are there? The Final Four has a 40,000 seat minimum. So Phoenix, San Antonio, New Orleans, Detroit, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Dallas, Tampa, Minneapolis (under construction).

If you remove Texas, now you are down to 7. If you use political issues of this sort, can you keep Florida, Indiana, Louisiana?

I just doubt anything will happen with San Antonio.

since most fans in a dome depend on the giant screen to see the game anyway, put them wherever and play the game in front of 20,000 in an arena.

No sport willingly bends over more than college hoops.

Games in football arenas, on battleships, starting at 6 am, or 9 pm., minor leagues for NBA.

After the regular season is over ... let's have tournaments before the tournament! To sweeten the pot, winner gets an automatic bid! Has a losing record? Them's the breaks!

Gee, no games between Selection Sunday and all the way to Thursday. Let's add four more teams, and they can play on Tuesday and Wednesday!
Right where I want to be.

Lol, exactly gumby.

No much of a stretch from a college stadium to pro for FB, or from a college arena to pro for basketball, but to play in a FB dome with the same size court is ridiculous. Kills the fan experience, crowd noise and I can imaging shooting depth perception for the players.

I have no solution and there really isn't one. But that doesn't detract from what I wrote in that holding a basketball game in a football stadium is bad for the player and fan experience and ultimately the sport.

But then again I'm not one to see bigger a$ alway$ better as it is with mo$t thing$ in America.

Holding the NCAA BB finals in a football is the equivalent of the chain restaurantifying of America, it just waters down and ultimately cheapens the product, IMO.

America = make a product just good enough for the largest amount of marketshare, quality be damned.

Key word is "recoup." Once you go there, then you have to recoup.

How about making even more money?

Best of 7. Make at least four times more. Maybe seven times more! Of course, when the schools squawk about kids missing classes, it would end.

Then we'd have to find a way to recoup that money.

Maybe put them in gladiator outfits, and let them use chariots.
Right where I want to be.

Move the Master's to Phoenix. Stadium golf can accommodate more fans. Or Aleppo. See how they do under real pressure.

Make World Series best of 9.

Indy 500? No, Indy 5000! Longer race, more ads to sell.

Good possibility we could have some NCAA tourney games a lot closer in the near future. Heard from the head honcho that the T-Mobile in Las Vegas is going to be pushing hard to get first and second round games and/or regional games. Not sure how far out the sites are booked but the CEO definitely wants some of the NCAA games here in Vegas.

And women's games if anybody really cares about that.
