Cannot remember a better reffed Pac-12 game. The first 7 minutes without a stoppage was a thing of beauty. There were a couple long stretches with no stoppages.
Game went into OT and still took less than 2 hours to finish.
It's these types of games where Zo is do valuable. He forces the whistle and puts fouls on the other team. He didn't shoot well but he contributed in this, area well

This seems to be a pattern but maybe I am not remembering right, seems like last year the first game was foul city...the next one was almost watchable and the championship game was barely whistled...

I bitch just about as much as anyone about the refs. Sure, there were times last night when I was hollering at them (mostly when Ayton is getting hacked and hacked and not getting a call on it, as usual), but it was amazing watching basketball that went uninterrupted for as long as it did last night.
That was the most unlike-pac12-reffing that I've seen in who knows how long.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
In his postgame presser Alford whined a bit about shooting only 4 free throws in 45 minutes. Said he needed to go back and look at the film to see why.

Could have something to do with the 35 three pointers they took instead of attacking the rim. Alford is a fucking moron.
There were at least three And-1s that went uncalled, including Rawle’s slam which should have been an And-2 for its savagery alone. I understand Rawle killed a man, but it was still a foul. I guess the whistles fell out of the slack jaws of the refs...
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Just hope to God we don't get a crew in the Tourney that falls for the "Ayton ate my lunch" flops that teams have been employing to get Deandre in foul trouble.

That would really suck.
Truly our Achilles heel, in that it''s a stupid shitty way to take out a warrior/god.
