Is that dbag spitter still on the UCLA team? Aside from this, it’s going to be a really tough game vs. UCLA tomorrow…..as usual.

No clue too.

I wonder if we’ll see Bal and Nowell today. I got the feeling beating Rado, triple locking up the number 1 seed, and proving to the players immediately that they can in fact win without Kerr was more important than what happens tonight. Not saying they’ll sandbag at all. Just wondering if this game might be used to experiment with some different personnel combinations.

Hope they keep up the good FT work. That was impressive!

This team simply amazes me. How do you win games when your opponent shoots 64% in the second half(Stanford). Then you win a game giving up a record 16 three balls where they shoot 50% from three? You would think those kind of stats would get you beat

They're better when they've slowed it down. If this stays under 72-ish points, I think UCLA pulls away late with free throws.

If it's in the 80s, I like our chances. But I think they'll win because they'll determine the pace without Kerr pushing it.

Very good points. UCLA is good at dictating tempo and they don't turn the ball over. They don't score a lot but they're very efficient offensively. Couple that with their experience and I see us having a lot of problems with them. I think it will be relatively close but UCLA controls us most of the game. UCLA 77 Arizona 65

Our PG is out and we're favored 1.5 over UCLA? I wouldn't have thought Vegas would see what I saw yesterday. Namely, that Arizona is really, really, really fucking good.

At full strength, with a few days of rest, we beat ucla on a neutral court 6 out of 10 times. Today, with such low stakes for us and with their chance to improve seed position, I think they’ll come out ahead.

I don’t like how Benn or CK played yesterday, so I’m not convinced we can beat a good ucla team for a 2nd time.

Side note: they were picked to be a top 5 team this year, and they fell well short of that. Arizona had the season ucla was supposed to have, and we did it in a year where every media outlet (and every ucla fan) expected us to be a bubble team at best. So I love knowing that we are a #1 seed, and they’re no better than a 3 after today. Bodes well for the future. Lloyd > Micro Mick

It is crazy the amount of people I meet that aren't from here that thought Tucson was like the size of Pullman or Starkville or something, like it was a little dusty western town with a saloon and general store and a university. They're surprised there's a million people here and a downtown and that it takes 40 minutes to drive across town.

Cityfolk are the real yokels. I've lived in cities as big as Boston and L.A. and as small as Paradise, CA. By and large, it's the people who've spent their whole lives in cities who seem the least knowledgeable about the surrounding world.

One of the things that has impressed me with Tommy is his ability to listen to his staff and adapt...last nights game against Colorado was a perfect example of this, they calculated that letting the Buffs shoot threes was a good gamble and a new record for threes was set for a P12 tournament game, but the Buffs still lost...thats some fucking science level X and O's if you ask me...but Tommy went with it and the really impressive thing was how well the team adapted.
Think about it...you change your defense completely up this late in the season and it worked.

So yeah UCLA is good, but they are predictable and not quite as adaptive as the Cats are...I have faith in this team.

Besides UCLA isn't as deep as we are even when we're one man down.

I say we win by 6 or more.

They have apparently never tried to drive east/west through Tucson. Several of my family lives eastside, Harrison and Houghton areas.

Tucson Metro has more people than the central coast tri-counties of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Monterey counties where I live combined. The metro area I live in takes 10 minutes at most from the south to the north, but it's built along the 101.

I have a brother who lives near there on 29th(?). Another brother on Broadway, and my dad lives off Speedway. Another brother lives in Casa Adobes (moved from OV) and a sister midtown. Along with their kids scattered.

Some thoughts after watching Tad and Mick in post game:

Mick's a dick but he's funny. Three stiff highballs in that little fucker and it's gonna be a movie worth watching.

Tad, based on how he assigns causation and blame, should join a certain unnamed news channel. "We didn't lose because of officiating, we lost because of foul shooting" is like saying "It's not hot outside because of the sun, it's hot because it's daytime."
