Yeah, he must have had the benefit of watching Brandon hit a few buckets. Then there's TJ, Gabe, Stanley, and Rondae doing their thing. ;)

Does anybody else think it's bullshit that conference auto bid teams have to play in the play in games. I think the play in games should all be bubble teams. My preference is to get rid of them completely.

The play in games are stupid and kill the momentum and greatness of the tournament.

Just finished my bracket, I cannot believe how easy Duke's road is. I saw it unfold live yesterday, but seeing it on paper it is even easier.

I never saw the need for expanding past 64, although it was extremely cool to see Cal Poly win a NCAA tourney game as a play-in.

Maybe when 16s start beating 1s then the tourney can expand. Otherwise, what's the point?

exactly.

Oh and I simply refuse to call the play-in round the "first round".

It's such bullshit that we don't play till the "2nd round".....we play in the "first round" and the play-ins play in the play-in round. STFU ncaa with your branding and stupidity and billions of dollars in profits.

I second POM's post. It's ridiculous to call the play in games anything other than play in games to be able to make the first round. The first round starts when the play ins are over.

The play-in games are fine as long as they consistently reward the best of the best seeds--and, like greg says, just put the bubble teams in there.

To use geography as an argument for why two six seeds get a worn-out play-in winner over the two other 1 seeds is a placeholder at most.

And to keep UCLA and Texas out of Dayton in this bracket is absolutely, mind-bogglingly unjustifiable--and just one more reason why this Field of 64 is perhaps the most unbalanced and asymmetrical this century.
rgdeuce wrote:I agree about our road. There isn't a certified cat-killer in the bunch til the Wisky matchup in elite 8, but that is expected in that game. VCU/Ohio State dont scare me, but I think either will be tough. Anytime you get a star, one of the 5 best players in the country that early, you probably are going to have your work cut out for you. The good news is, we have guys who will make his life tough. VCU has been up and down but you know they are going to turn up the pressure and make it tough on us too. Baylors zone will keep the game close. I've seen them a few times and they looked like a really tough teams. Then lose to some really bad teams in games I missed. Basically, after the Texas Southern game, take your heart medicine as a fan. Our guys are mentally tough though.
No question. I just see this bracket as loaded with young, up-and-coming thoroughbreds until the Elite Eight--with Baylor, VCU and Xavier all practically looking ahead in anticipation of taking down Arizona.

That's my bracket buster hope: These teams lose early because they're looking ahead to the Wildcats. Baylor IMHO is the most susceptible to this, but if Wisky has an off shooting night in the 16 and Arkansas gets hot, the Badgers won't be able to claw back this time.
rgdeuce wrote:I disagree about Gonzaga though but we will see. That region is doo-doo IMO. And they get the softest of the one seeds. With all of their weapons and Duke's weaker defense, I am picking the Zags over them. Georgetown at the 4 is a joke IMO.
It might as well be established fact that this year's South Region is a pathetic POS.

I'd love to ride the Zags to the FF again in my bracket, but Few has one Elite Eight in all his years there and just can't be trusted not to bust. If it is finally Gonzaga's time, so much the better it topples Duke, but the Blue Devils have the biggest cakewalk to the Elite Eight I've ever seen.

What the hell, I'll take the Zags to emerge from the South, only because nobody else in that region is worth betting on.

VCU made a run to the FF from the play-in position (sorry, KO). It's here to stay.

Few has no EEs. That was Monson.

Agree about the South, but glad Iowa State landed there instead of in the West.

I don't think anyone is scared of Duke or thinks that highly of them. There are some ex-dukies picking against them too. They just have a really easy path to the final four, or at the very least, significantly easier than anyone else.

Not that it means anything but KenPom was on the local radio in DC just now...AZ is 2 overall in his rankings so he obviously picked us to beat Wiscy and go to the Final 4. Along with Kentucky, Villanova, and Utah. Said AZ or Wisconsin only two teams that are really equipped to take down Kentucky. Utah is 8 overall in his rankings so he liked them to take down Duke in S16. Two PAC teams in Final 4 would be craziness.

UTAH is just crap on the road.....I see them as a first or second round exit. They have the the talent to be sweet sixteen but they love to disappoint.....Can you believe they lost to Oregon TWICE???

As mentioned above, Utah doesn't play well away from home. They also beat the snot out of inferior teams, but come down to earth and even regress against good to great teams. If you would have asked me before we beat them in Utah, I would have told you they had a good chance to beat duke. But I think we crushed their souls after that loss in SLC, they havent been the same team since.

Cats getting some love on CNBC... Guest technical analyst talking about a crowded trade, stating that it was ALSO the correct trade - comparing it to "Everyone picking Kentucky to win the national championship".

The host Brian Sullivan closed the segment with "Kentucky is not going to win the national championship... the Arizona Wildcats are going to win the national championship". He's a Va Tech grad, so no homerism involved. :)
