I saw the talk with the ref after he got up and you're right he was collected when discussing it. It's when KK was on the floor that I thought I saw him say something to the refs. Something like "call the charge?". I could be mistaken but I thought I did.

As for who it was that threw it... I didn't realize it was fn Irving that assessed it. When is someone gonna take him out back behind the arena and kick the techs out of him?

TucsonCat wrote: Fri Jan 06, 2023 9:12 am Kerr wasn’t called for a tech due to his attitude yesterday. It was a flop call, which now results in a technical free throw for the opposing team. It was a bit confusing because the announcers were completely clueless and made it sound like it was due to him getting in the official’s face. (By the way, the flop call was correct, much as I hate to admit it.)
One would have thought the announcers would have figured it out when only one free three was assessed.

There is no doubt that KK is on the officials radar. They could have passed on that call and probably would on most guys but no way KK gets that pass

Could be I guess. He does some wacky stuff. Saw Ramey tweet out that there are only two games left at home so maybe the players were encouraged to interact with the fans

As far as I've heard this isn't a goodbye tweet. It's merely Estonian for let's kick ass the rest of the season.

Yeah, sometimes his understanding/use of the English language is not that great.

You saw how difficult it was to understand Walton’s question “what do you attribute to your recent success?”

Although not understanding what Walton is talking about is not that uncommon.

Kerr earlier stated that he might have to come back for 2 more years to play Duke. I think it is the final two home games of season. Not sure what all his option are but I expect him to be back.

So, Kerr's likely to have the most assists in the conference for the second consecutive year!!

Last time this happened was in, like 1997-98??? (One of Big Bill's factoids, the specific details of which have eluded me this AM)

And he's tied (with Ramey!!) for most threes in the conference!! Amazing!!

Damn, if ONLY he were a top rate point guard!!  :? 8-)

I have to give Kriisa props. I’ve been hard on him all season, but he’s come up big at some key moments. And his numbers are terrific.

Also, having Ramey as a reliable 3pt shooter takes some pressure off of Kriisa to be our main guy hitting those shots.

He has really ran the team well all year. I especially have been happy with his recent play as he has been more selective with his shot and has been getting his team into the offense more.

Really interesting to see he and Boswell finishing games together. I like that move given Ramey struggles from the FT line

Which point guard is better?

PG #1: PTS - 10.6; REB - 2.4; AST - 5.4 (22nd nationally); FG% - 37.9

PG #2: PTS - 12.7 (150+); REB - 2.5; AST - 4.7 (70th nationally); FG% - 38.7

Which would you rather have??

Kind of a toss up. PG#2 is closer to 5 APG than PG#1 is to 6 APG. It's pretty much a wash otherwise.

Wow that is very close 2.1 more points vs .7 more assists let's say that assist is worth 2.5 points because sometimes it's going to a 3 point shooter and sometimes there'll be an and1.

That .7 assists is worth 1.75 points. The other numbers are so close.

Who guards better? Who doesn't get benched in the first half due to foul trouble? Who is better in the locker room? Who cares more? Who knows when and how to clank a free throw with 2 sec left in the game so the other team doesn't get a good look at a 3? Which one is named Kerr Kriisa?

I'm not at all a basketball guy, but to my very untrained eye, it seems like Kerr has the cockiness and fearlessness that's good to have in a PG for a team making a title run. If he can make some better late-game decisions and hits a run of playing like he's capable of, seems like he will be exactly what we need.

Do miss the old injury reports the schools used to give, but believe the NCAA stopped it since it was often used by gamblers.

I saw Scheer trolling for subscribers earlier with a hint, but I don't have access there.

I don't expect any word until gametime though, since obviously ASU can plan accordingly. Such as to give Kriisa free access to shoot so they can double on Zu.

Did see this though:

When I played a lot of pickup basketball much later in life than I should have, I developed bursitis in my shoulders which required cortisone shots. I had 4, one ever 3 months, and after that my doctor said no more. 4 is all he will do at one spot.

Then I switched to racquetball which created all kinds of other health issues. :)

But in any event, cortisone is a miracle drug, although my doc told me not to use the afflicted area for a few days, which is impossible for Kriisa.

I hear that shoulder pads are pretty good at minimizing contusions!! But, for some reason they aren’t worn in basketball!!
