Coach Kaufusi will coach defensive ends and outside linebackers in his first year at Arizona. He came from UCLA with Coach Nansen where Kaufusi coached outside linebackers for 3 years. He's been coaching since 2004 and started at the high school level before moving on to Weber State and Nevada where he coached defensive line and linebackers and Kaufusi also spent time as the defensive coordinator at Weber State.
Kaufusi is a 2003 grad from Utah where he was a 1st team All-Moutain West selection as a Junior and a pre-season All-American selection as a Senior until he was sidelined with an injury. His parents came from Tonga, but Kaufusi is a Salt Lake City native, the Utah player of the year out of high school, and the 4th member of his family to play football at Utah.
