Darnold actually ran some read option against ASSU and ran it effectively. No doubt we are going to have to buckle in for his one

Chances are we lose. I mean, USC is at home, has a lot of NFL talent, and needs a win badly. There is no LA Malaise in this game...it is like how, in a bad year, UCLA will lose in Pullman but we will get the 5 star treatment from their underperforming former stars under the lights of a game vs Arizona. We are in position to take what they want...the PAC 12 South and chance to play for the conference title. So we aren't getting "look past" USC.

We certainly can win. They tend to over pursue with their super athletes, and we are nothing if not a cut back/find the hole offense. At our simplest, we just snap to Tate and make holes, and he turns them into paths to the endzone. As WSU found out, you can't stop him and cover if we send 3 or 4 into patterns. If you want to crash the box and keep Tate and JJ to 1 yard per carry, something else is there. And if you go cover that, we are back to Tate running wild. Or you can do like WSU, and break down mentally at the thought...it was like the old 2014 basketball team when you could see when the other team's will broke....WSU broke. Their LBs were in the box, but they were hesitating before filling gaps. They saw two slow TEs run past them for wide open passes already. They saw deep hit after deep hit (a drop and a great cover stopped 3 deep hits early). They couldn't commit to the box any longer. USC will face that. We WILL get opportunities against them.

But they can also do something we cannot defend...they can just pound the ball at us every play. And at that point, it becomes a "score every possession and hope for turnovers" game. Like Colorado. Can we win that? Yeah, of course. But chances are we don't. And that still leaves us way ahead of our best case scenario this year, with the Oregons and ASU left to go and 6 wins in the can. 7-5 this year was everyone's stretch. Did anyone say 8-4? Really? I mean, people who don't just hate the staff saw we were effective, even with Dawkins, when we had our RBs and OL, and the D was better. We were more the team vs Washington that lost so many players we were converting WRs to RB and trying 17 year old QBs out of redshirt due to injury, and had like 2 DL and 3 OL who could stand without assistance. That team fell apart to 3-9, but with their full roster, or a reasonable facsimile, we were competing with UW into overtime. We were a 6-6 type team healthy. Now, with Tate, we might be more...

Just put your white, clear liquor(i.e. vodka, rum) in a water bottle. Simple. No reason to go through any pains.

If USC ends up the day running 100 plays like WSU did it will not bode well for the Wildcats. We need to run the ball effectively, and keep their play total to 75-80. I think their size is going to be a problem for us. This team is playing with a chip on it's shoulder so maybe that'll get them through to a win, but i don't think so this time.

It would be nice to have Nick Wilson back for this one. Guess we'll know for sure Thursday

34-31 USC

You can't bring an open water bottle into a stadium.... Day one stuff haha

For McKale, I'd flatten a water bottle, fill it up and waistband it. Still got about 8 ounces.

you can only bring in sealed bottles... though i knew kids in college that would use syringes to draw out water and replace it with vodka in water bottle lids

It is really hard to spot an open bottle unless you look real close. They don't. It's worked for me the last 20 or so times at multiple venues.

A lot of work. Since it's actually getting nippy at night out here, bring the whole fucking bottle and stick it in your coat/jacket.

Buy a large drink add some love and enjoy the beat down we will unleash on these cocksuckers!

Notre Dame did what they wanted to USC's defense with a mobile quarterback. USC's defense isn't anything special, Tate playing in his hometown against the team that wouldn't take him as a quarterback. This means a lot to Tate and I bet he goes off and it's another shootout. Whoever wins the turnover battle wins and Darnold can be turnover prone.

Arizona 38
USC 30

The turnovers part is legit. Darnold is a great talent and doesn't suck, but he averages 2 to's a game. The opportunity is there.

Exactly. Lots of INT and lost fumbles.

Tackle well and play good fundamental football to minimize the talent difference.

Turn overy Darnold

WR get open as they will likely be one on one a lot and make plays.

Those are Arizona's keys to victory

In the last 5 games Darnold has 3 picks and 8 fumbles (losing 7 of them them). No reason he can't keep that up. :D

did i say anything about them sucking? all i said is Darnold is prone to turnovers which he has been this year want to try and argue that? one thing uofa has been good of on defense is timely turnovers. We are second in the nation in interceptions. I think USC will move the ball fairly easily against Arizona like most teams have just depends on if Darnold turns the ball over or not..

U of A is 49th in defense yards per pass attempt and 38th in defense yards per rush attempt

USC is 50th and 80th in the same categories.

U of A is 2nd in the nation in scoring points per play and the best in the last game and last three games.

USC is 36th.

Here is what being a UofA fan for far too long has taught me to expect of this upcoming game: disappointment.

Cats just back into national rankings. Big game on the road against a team that has beaten us more often than not, and a team that has done better on the "big stage" more often than not (and certainly more often than we have). A chance to take over 1st place and have a potentially great season.

Therefore, if history is any indicator of what will happen:

Who even needs to go back that far?

You can just look at how we performed in the 2014 pac12 championship and the subsequent fiesta bowl.
UA's ready to show up big for the big game!...er...whoops, no we weren't. It's ok though, UA is ready to show up big for the big bowl game!...er...whoops, no we weren't.

Huge game...but we played at home, and this one is a little different since we have a number of players that are from the area. Plus it's USC

Coming up with a big win against a ranked opponent is something UofA has done before. Sustaining success after a big win is something that we've struggled with.

Either cryptic or hedging. Might need both in the future to show credibility. Remember when he said our center sucked and shouldn't have been offered and/or he should have been moved to guard. Rough month for our friend

A couple weeks ago I wouldn't have believed that the Cats could win this game. But the last couple weeks taste had shown that he can throw and connect on the deep ball. With his running ability, that's scary for a defense. Combine that with Darnold's turnovers this season(hopefully last week's game against ASU isn't indicative of him getting a handle on that) and I think Arizona wins a game similar to the WSU game. Tight for most of the game.

However, I've been a Cats fan for a long time. This leaves me very cautiously optimistic. I've gotten excited many times, only to be forced back down to earth. This game scares me.

Per play has actually been pretty good. With USC's defense, I do not think U of A will score as quickly as easily. That will help with the defensive stats and perception.

I took his "what center?" as Chief doubling down that we still don't have a center, just a guard playing center.
