Bruce Feldman just listed 10 names for the Florida job, and none of them were named Rich Rodriguez.

One thing for certain, RR and staff got some good ones last year, especially on defense. Can't wait until Fields or Schooler hit Burmeister

Honestly, the next time you have a take on RR that is even remotely accurate, it will be the first time.

He’s not going anywhere so move on already.

No one was right about this season. Not even you Mr 5 wins. No pundit or media member or anyone who profits off of the program were right. Even RR wasn’t right as he continually started Dawkins. It took an injury to Dawkins to start the Tate era. But we can all play along like we knew it all along, right? Like you were right about Casteel along along too. Haha! You went on a hiatus because you got schooled. But let’s pretend. Now if Heeke can just come up with a way to pack the stadium because fans aren’t buying RR and we all know that neither are you. But let’s pretend. :D

That’s because he’s not good enough for that job. That’s a top 10 coaching job.

Still think we oughta switch to a pro style offense?

^^^ This. He runs the ship, and right now this ship is moving in the right direction.

Those who blamed him for his (extended) failures were Haters. Now if they credit him for his success, they are bandwagoners. And if they do not completely ignore 9 of the last 10 years because of the past 4 weeks, they are "bad fans".

Makes perfect sense.

Did Sean Miller let recruiting fall off when he had one foot out the door? Did we have a losing season sprinkled in there because he was cool with his assistants golfing and enjoying a semi-retired life instead of signing the kids we’d need to take us to a championship level?

You get back to us when that happens, ok?
Yeah, because four and five star recruits are just lining up to play football at UA and RR was too busy being wined and dined to get them to sign their LOIs. Give me a break.
Sure, I can give you a break. All this logic knocking holes in your straw-man argument probably isn’t much fun.
You are the one introducing the strawman. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of criticizing RR for interviewing for other jobs, since everyone does it, including SM. If it's not loyal to explore other opportunities, then so be it. But they did stick around, and that's what matters to me.
One guy could have his pick of the litter when he gets married. Shortly after, he is hit on by a really hot girl (that he had his eyes on years ago) at the bar and flirts a bit but says "No thanks, I am spoken for". He goes home.

Another guy is 40 pounds over weight, balding, and couldn't score with a Tijuana whore, but meets a nice woman who sees the best in him - and they wed. He sheds 15 lbs, goes out with his buddies, and exchanges glances with a cougar that has most of her teeth. He chases her into the bathroom and begs her to go back to the hotel with him. She declines.

Yeah. In a cult.

Pathetic and it needs to stop, this need to feel "better" than other fans. The cult of fandom is rotting our society to dust.

I think he gets the same percentage of credit as blame. The players are always doing things, but a lot of people will lay credit/blame on the HC for recruiting them. I think it's a bit of both, but when it goes wrong, like last year, RR should get the same amount of blame as he does credit this year when things go right.

Don't think it has to be that complicated. A Team winning, a team losing is always going to include the HC in praise or blame. He's the Boss. He's got to take blame for bad hires or being a bad hire. How his coaches recruit, develop or don't.

I myself started bitching about RR's recruiting back in 2014. Started complaining about his offense (and defense) in 2015. Started bitching about RR in 2016. Team was losing and I was blaming him. Probably in this thread, I posted I saw no way RR could save his job. Odds were too great. Just didn't see a way for him do so.

Now his team is winning. More importantly his team has some depth. Some, and that depth is mostly very young. His players also seem to be engaged. They play hungry and hard. So I give credit to RR. The defense just played 101 plays, gave up 32 1st downs and and UA still won by 3 touchdowns. RR's offense is that good. And it's not just Khalil. The run blocking has been fantastic. TE's are a major force in this season's offense. The offense is RR's sweet spot and in his control. Win or lose.

UA is winning, more than I expected. So I'm excited about that. Possible some of those that want to parse and not give credit to RR showing some other bias against RR or the team into the conversation. UA, the school is winning, enjoy it. It's a nice surprise this season.

Third lowest since we've joined the conference then. Tells you the problem is with the program and not the fanbase. We sold out half our games seemingly under Stoops. It's squarely and administration/RR problem.

One sportswriter - I forget who already - recently pointed out that in Stoops' first five years there were 20 games that weren't televised. All games are on TV now. Add in the late starts, no more SunTran shuttle (not the school's fault), and it's easier for a lot of people to stay home.

Good point. When you can buy tickets, pay for parking, pay for stadium food, sit in an uncomfortable seat for 4+ hours, be gone until midnight since the game doesn't kick-off until after 8...or you can relax on your couch with friends and have beer and have your own toilet right there and watch the game in high definition and can pause and rewind it...for a lot of people who are die hard great fans the choice is simple to stay home.

NFL used to have a rule years ago, that games were blacked out locally if the stadium didn't reach 85% capacity tickets sold.

Would that help in Tucson? Probably for the nicer earlier games, but 8:15 pm on a Saturday will not do it.

When I was a student 1981-5 rarely was a game televised live. But after the games I used to come watch the replays on one of the local stations, maybe KOLD.

No, I believe it was channel 11 -------KZAZ -- that would rebroadcast. But I could be wrong because I'm old and my memory has suffered from too many nights of "cracking #1, #2, #3,etc."

I was there last night, Crowd didn't seem as bad as the attendance number suggests. Zoo was terrible but was else is new, todays student would rather watch the game at a bar or frat house or on their phone, or not at all etc. The students who were there were loud but just sucks more didnt come to see a very fun team.

Wish more die hards here would go to games.

Whatever, I can only control me.

Again, if you live somewhere else or dont want to go you can always buy cheap tickets and donate them to a good local charity in Tucson like the Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Or donate to the Wildcat club. Or do something to show your appreciation outside of watching on TV and writing on a message board. Call me a dick, ban me whatever, but please do something that shows up on U of A's bottom line.

Just sad that our team doesn't get the support it deserves especially from Students. The team is really fun to watch in person.

Ok. I live in Tucson. RR has lost Tucson. Or to be more precise, he had already lost Tucson before our lackluster home schedule (in terms of both opponents and start times) made it even less appealing to go to the games for casual fans.

Can he win Tucson back? Most certainly. Casual fans are fickle. Beat Oregon, beat ASsU, win the bowl game, and casual fans will be a lot more excited about next year and atendance will go back up.

I don't live in Tucson but if that happens I will be very tempted to dump my Cardinals season tickets (which are going to be completely worthless next year barring some miracle) for Cats season tickets. But that's not going to happen if the start times don't get better. I don't feel like getting back to Chandler at 3 am Sunday mornings.

Enough with the cat cruiser. You have made a good point here and there but your insistence on people outside of Tucson attending games at the cost of either arriving home early the next morning or the added expense of a hotel is unrealistic. I live over an hour away and there is not any kind of shuttle, nor would i care to take my children on one. In spite of that we still went to the ucla game. Not everyone can rearrange their family life and other obligations in the same way you can. You're way past a friendly reminder of options and now into annoying condescension from your throne of high fandom. Give it a rest.

Attendance next year will get a teensy bump from the more name brand schedule, but if we lose again, it will be just as bad or worse than this year.
