As the boards current co-first-place-guy in pick em can anyone explain to me what "sharps" are as in sharp money?

Our line opened at -4 then moved to -2.5 quickly. Im a newbie to spreads, etc. And was wondering what makes our line stay like that for a few days or when our line moves a bit during the week leading up to the game (I assume the line moves larger in our favor as more money comes in on us and vice versa?).

Gimino's 5 things to watch and his prediction.
The forecast, as of Friday morning, called for a 20 percent to 40 percent chance of rain and wind, especially later in the afternoon.

"I don't want it at all," Rodriguez said of any bad weather.

"I've had plenty of cold and rainy in the past. That's why I love Arizona so much - 10-day forecast, zero percent chance of rain."

Lovely fall day in Spokane. Heading down to Pullman soon. Storm predicted tonight. Hopefully, the game ends first. Just in case, Gumby and Junior will be bringing red and blue ponchos.

It's amazing the Cougs get any fans at their games at all, with all of them living at least an hour and a half away in Spokane or 2+ hours away in the Tri-Cities (not to mention the hardy souls that make the 5 hour journey from Seattle or Portland). I remember as a kid making the drive back from Pullman in the middle of the night back to Kennewick after watching Bledsoe or Leaf beat up on the Vandals. That was 5 hours out of the day just driving, and if you wanted a quick bite before heading back you had to drive over to Idaho for something! That said, Cougar fans are some of the best in the country as far as I'm concerned, though I think you would be too if you had to deal with Husky and Duck fans on a regular basis.

It is quite amazing that the university is located there. And eight miles away is the University of Idaho. It is three hours of driving from Spokane (roundtrip) to see a Coug game. During hoops season, it can be much longer if it's snowing. Heading back, it's a long line of cars.

However, I have to say that I love attending games there. Can't buy a bad ticket, since it's so small. And I've never had an issue with Coug fans. Helps that we usually win.

Anyway, it was a great day with my son, and not a bit nerve-racking, since the Cougs just didn't show up. Got to sit right behind the Wildcat bench in the fourth quarter, after most people had cleared out. Solomon was rooting for Scroggins. Pretty cool. Cayleb Jones is enormous.

There was this announcement, when the score was 52-16: "Coug fans, we hope you're enjoying today's game ..." That drew laughs from the small crowd still there.

Quite amazing that Mike Price was able to win there. Two Rose Bowl appearances, and a NCOY one of those years.

Underappreciated that he did this. I still can't believe it. First year we moved here, they went to the Rose Bowl. Geez.

Fun new slide show from the Washington State game at arizonawildcat.com.

I couldn't find a way to embed this video, but that would be a nice feature.
