Yes. If UCLA beat Stanford we would be looking at being ranked #9 or so in the final poll.

yeah. Us being blown out in this game probably means a holiday bowl. If we hadn't even played in it we'd probably be in the fiesta. So it was actually worse to win the division. But hey now we get to play a mediocre big 10 team in the holiday bowl like Minnesota or Nebraska

Nothing like a bad loss to bring out your pessimistic self. Committee isn't dropping Arizona 7-11 spots for losing to the #2 team in the country. You are on tilt right now.

Well we're dropping at least 4-5 which will exclude us from the fiesta. I feel really confident it'll be the holiday bowl.

Cfp-Oregon
Alamo-ucla
Holiday-Arizona
Foster farms sf bowl-Stanford(they've said they want Stanford)
Sun bowl-asu or usc
Vegas bowl-asu or usc
Cactus bowl-Utah or uw
Random other bowl with an open spot-leftover from Utah or uw.

But to be fair the holiday bowl would probably want usc over Arizona and they are allowed to pick usc. So there's a small chance we end up in the sun bowl.

This is what I was worried about if Oregon really laid it on - the Fiesta Bowl might not really want Arizona anymore.

Still, most of the media projections had UA losing to Oregon and still ending up in the Fiesta Bowl, playing against Boise State.

Why then is Boise State getting in with a #20 ranking and not UA with a presumable #15/16 ranking?

And is their some stipulation that the Fiesta must take some shmoe ranked ahead of us, even if they don't draw the fan support?

I don't mind the Holiday as long as we win - the worst case scenario is a repeat of ASU last year getting blown out in both the Pac CG & the Holiday.

Well if all the teams that are ahead of us when which is very possible the only team that may jump us is Michigan State. Losing in the conference championship shouldn't hurt you that bad! I think we will be ranked higher then UCLA that's for sure!

Here's my prediction if everything holds:

Sugar: #1 Alabama vs. #4 Baylor
Rose: #2 Oregon vs. #3 FSU

Orange: Georgia Tech vs. Kansas St.
Peach: Mississippi St. vs. Michigan St.
Cotton: TCU vs. Ohio St
Fiesta: Arizona vs. Boise St.

Might have to swap OSU for Baylor

I doubt if Ohio State is going to make it to the playoffs unless they pass undefeated Florida State or TCU.

I say leave TCU out and move Ohio State in. That would solve the TCU/Baylor dilemma.

I don't know if you can let TCU in here. OSU has had key injuries at QB and is STILL dominating. Plus they won their Conference Championship, while TCU isn't even a Conference champ AND they don't need to play Baylor in a championship game!

They've shown the week to week rankings are always in flux - this isn't like the polls where you really can't move down if you win.

I don't see how you can have TCU over Baylor with Baylor winning head-to-head in the same conference that plays all 9 teams.

As CITH said, put OSU in and solve that problem. :)

Co-champs. Big 12 BS - said head-to-head doesn't matter. Baylor is the champ.

They were waiting for Baylor to have another quality win and finishing the season before going to the head-to-head.

But now I am thinking they just might take OSU.

The Big 12 is taking a beating on ESPN for not having a conference championship game and having "co-champions".

They are also saying Baylor would get the nod if it's a Big 12 team now.

Nope. From Sagarin:

CONFERENCE CENTRAL MEAN SIMPLE AVERAGE TEAMS WIN50%

1 SEC-WEST (A) = 92.42 92.22 ( 1) 7 92.26 ( 1)
2 PAC-12(SOUTH) (A) = 81.30 79.87 ( 2) 6 80.51 ( 2)
3 SEC-EAST (A) = 80.10 79.19 ( 3) 7 79.92 ( 3)
4 BIG 12 (A) = 79.27 78.96 ( 4) 10 79.12 ( 4)
5 PAC-12(NORTH) (A) = 75.60 76.53 ( 5) 6 75.99 ( 5)
6 BIG TEN-WEST (A) = 74.90 74.96 ( 8) 7 74.91 ( 6)
7 BIG TEN-EAST (A) = 74.27 75.42 ( 6) 7 74.73 ( 8)
8 ACC-ATLANTIC (A) = 74.24 73.30 ( 9) 7 73.87 ( 9)
9 ACC-COASTAL (A) = 74.21 75.01 ( 7) 7 74.82 ( 7)
10 MWC-MOUNTAIN (A) = 67.56 67.26 ( 10) 6 67.42 ( 10)

I doubt it the big 10 is terrible. Ohio state only played like 3 ranked teams this year.

If they leave out tcu and Baylor because of not having a title game...guess what that means? Big 12 will try to expand to 12-14 within 2 years so they aren't left out any more...

No reason. Baylor beat them, and they finished with the same record. That's Co-Champs, with Baylor winning the tie-breaker unless I'm forgetting something. They don't have a Conference championship, that should count against them, because we could be certain which team's better (Baylor or TCU) by having them play each other.

Why does Baylor think they're conference champs?

To do that they have to put osu over fsu. I'd be happy with and it would present nicely to have Oregon/osu in Pasadena and Alabama/fsu in New Orleans

I think it's
1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. FSU
4. Ohio State

Oregon v. Ohio State
Alabama v. FSU

The Big XII played 12 games not 13, and no championship. Too bad, so sad TCU and Baylor.

My problem is who has Ohio State beat? Michigan State? They beat nobody of note. Wisconsin? They beat nobody of note.

I'd rather the committee make a tough choice twixt TCU/Baylor.
