Actual attendance for that Asu game looks to be about 35-40 thousand

At most. Remember that they've reduced the capacity of SDS by several thousand seats, I think by 6000 or so but they may have taken out more. So it's a 64,000 or so seat stadium now.

Their average attendance in 6 games is 50,682 which is 78.9% full. However the Usc and Oregon games averaged about 58-59 thousand. Other four games averaged around 45 thousand. And that's all paid attendance. Their actual average attendance for the year is probably around 45 thousand.

Btw, we've averaged 711 more people a game than Asu with a much worse home schedule.

Twice this year I went over and sat in row 4 and row 1 behind our team at half. Everyone up top should do the same but maybe they cant see how empty it is.

Maybe some of you know... How does ASU count their "inferno" attendance numbers? Do they report it at full capacity in attendance numbers or not? Remember last season ASU (and the regents) kicked in their mandatory per semester athletics student fee. That fee gave first come first serve open access to the student section for games. Meaning technically the student section is always sold out whether the students fill it up or not.

EDIT: SDS = 64,248. Student section is 13,000 split between the two sections (includes the band in one of them)

They don't count it as full for every game. The student sections are reserved for them, (which is proving to be problematic), but the actual attendance numbers are taking into account actual student turnout. What the pictures above are showing is a weak student turnout in the north end zone (not unusual) and a lot of empty seats in the 3rd qtr because a significant # of fans left at halftime of what they thought was going to be a bad loss to UW.

Capacity will be between 58-60k when renovations are complete.

Probably. The renovation is pretty fluid, so I am hoping they drop it closer to 55k max.

ASU will have somewhat sharp decline this season in both average/game and % of capacity even if they sell out territorial cup. Depending on the territorial cup attendance, AZ could beat them in average/game this season (little "old" Tucson) but AZ will by far have a larger/better % of capacity over ASU this season. And both having tough seasons.

Tucson will win the better at being college "Football town" this season. ;)

Wonder what the numbers will be tomorrow. Don't feel the same buzz you usually do around this game. But no bye week and not Thanksgiving week will do that I suppose.

Already received a call from the AD about ticket renewals for next year. Guess they will be due in some way in February about the same time as spring practice. Coincidence?

I haven't received that call yet. I'm guessing prices are going to be a bit more expensive this year with an extra home game.

No doubt VCF, they were wondering if I wanted to upgrade and said renewals this year would be out in February. Maybe that is just the priority fee, not sure though

The above figures Chi posted should put yo rest who the better fan base is. Two 6-6 teams and ASSU had the more attractive schedule.

So I guess we chalk up their instate recruiting hall to home field advantage... And indoor practice facility of course. I suspect that with aTm imploding they are in a good position to land Byron Murphy as well.

I just really hope they don't snag Connor, too.

The renewals always start in February with a deadline of May 1 before they release your old seats to the general market, if I remember right. I don't know if ticket prices will go up but the extra home games haven't been a factor in past years, at least in my sections.

Heeke has earned a few games from me just from the hire. First game most likely, USC without a doubt, homecoming (I am assuming USC will be fam weekend), and ASU. Perhaps season tickets and donate the ones I cannot use.

Thank you. Guess I could've looked it up pretty easily. Interesting they didn't make SC a big attendance game. Then again, now with Sumlin, it should be regardless.

Definitely thinking of coming back for Homecoming. Haven't even considered that since Stoops. And that Houston game is looking pretty enticing if I can get good seats without having to sell one of my kids.

Neither of those things were the case for me with RichRod at the helm. Just to be honest...

I think I've changed my mind. A fresh batch of kool-aid, Tate, lower ticket prices, community outreach and we got a good shot at improving attendance. I'm liking what the coach is saying about being engaged with the community and with former Wildcat greats.

yeah, thought it odd they couldn't get any images of actual wildcat fans (or at least people dressed as them) in the image.

my image editing skills are pretty weak, but I think even I could manage to do that at least.

From Dave Heeke's Wildcat Wednesday email blast:

FOOTBALL TICKET SALES OFF TO A STRONG START
A special thanks to all of you who have purchased or renewed 2018 football season tickets. Our sales campaign is off to a strong start. I am particularity pleased to see so many “new” sales on our report. In just under a week, we have already sold 1,575 new football season tickets. There is a buzz around here. Enthusiasm and excitement for Kevin Sumlin and our program is increasing every day. We have a long way to go to get our season ticket and Wildcat Club numbers up to where we need them to be, so keep those renewals and new sales coming. If you haven’t already, you can do so by visiting ArizonaWildcats.com/fb.

Also noticed Season Ticket tables in McKale for the Colorado game last week with a nice line of interested parties. We need keep this pace up for a while to make up for the drop off. Looking good though!!
