Turituri is a 6-1, 265, Junior linebacker from Central Point, OR. He has played in every game since showing up on campus and after Scooby is our most experienced linebacker with 8 starts last year. Turituri had 44 tackles last season along with 5 TFLs and 3 sacks. The favorite to start at SAM linebacker, Turituri may also get more time on the defensive line this year. The coaches have stated they want to keep Scooby at linebacker whenever possible and Turituri is the most likely candidate to become the 3rd down rush end.

Turituri is Scooby's main lifting partner and he has been tearing it up in the weight room setting multiple records over the summer. If his offseason work transfers over to the field, Turituri will be one of the players to watch for a breakout season.

'45 was the last Wildcat football team to go undefeated. Arizona did not field a team in 1943 or 1944 because of the war and played a limited schedule in 1945 going 5-0 with no conference games .

1945 (5-0)
Coach Miles W. Casteel
Captain Boyd Morse
Northern Arizona 52-6
San Diego State 46-0
Williams Field 30-0 (The Army base in Mesa that became Williams AFB)
Cal Poly-SLO 37-6
San Diego State 28-0

A dominant year for the Wildcats, but it certainly helps when all your opponents are still recovering from grueling victories over Germany and Japan.

Miles Casteel never had a losing season while at the UA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_W._Casteel

NO. 45
“Cactus Comet” nets 38 yards per carry, five TDs against New Mexico State

SCORE: Arizona Wildcats 58, New Mexico A&M Aggies 0

DATE: Sept. 18, 1954

SITE: Arizona Stadium
Lots of good 45 trivia from Javier including a reminder of one of the records Anu broke last year:
Before Anu Solomon shattered the record books with his 520-yard passing performance in the miracle Hail Mary win over Cal last season, Matt Scott held the record for most completions in a game with 45 at Stanford in 2012. Solomon connected on 47 of his 73 passes in the comeback victory over the Golden Bears.

Did Turituri come back in after he limped off? Didn't hear his name again.

He crushed the quarterback from behind a milisecond late on the TD throw. I think that play happened after the limp off.

Not a good start for the defense either with Fotu going to miss half the season.

If whatever injury he has is serious enough that he will miss 2 consecutive seasons, should we expect him to ever return?

Hip injury, correct? Seems those hips are tricky, a la Bo Jackson.

Bummer for the kid. He looked like he'd put in a lot of work last off-season.

Next man up. Yates is gonna earn his paycheck this year with the linebacker corps he's got to work with.

No loss here. He was not fast enough for a LB in this new system nor the 3-3-5....I always thought he would make a better end or just leave him inside.

Big loss. We can't afford to have a single injury in the lb corps this year.

The one time I did the wildcat walk last season saw him go right by me, he doesn't fuck around in the weight room.
