Arizona hasn't gotten a turnover in the last two games. Now would be a good time to start swiping the rock again.

Oregon St. has been sort of ok against the run. Arizona's attack, though, isn't like anything they've faced yet. This is a game like Stanford, though, where 3 and outs can be costly. QB decision making will be key. Randall will have to make better reads if he's the starter. If Solomon plays, Oregon St. is going to have problems.

Oregon St coming off a bye week, so from a physical stand point they are going to be a fresher team. Also their last game was against Stanford and they were more competitive than U of A if comparative scores are any indication. If I was betting I would take the points.

If Anu plays I love UA. I get what you are saying but OSU was with their starting qb and was at home.

If anu is healthy and we get one or two other guys back I like us to cover the line

RichRod said in today's presser that none of the defensive guys who were out will return this week and Solomon is day to day. Won't play if he doesn't practice. Ran a bit yesterday. But he doesn't know.

Ditto.

The one goal left in the season (other than to somehow find a way to beat the scum) is to win 3 more games, avoid a losing season, and get to a bowl game. Thats important for recruiting, and for the extra practices where one can develop the underclassmen.

The 3 most winnable games left are OSU, WSU and Colorado.

If we can get a healthy, non-concussed Anu back this goal is within reach. Without him I'm afraid we may be staring at a losing season.

Holding out for a miracle that someone on our staff can rebuild JR's confidence and we see a very much improved player come Saturday as I have a hunch Anu will be sitting out.

Shit, I might just take the family down the street to Tesoro to catch a bit of Friday night lights and get a glimpse of the future (Modster) of Arizona football.

I need to something to believe in......

Randall improved as the game went on. Better decisions, better touch on the passes, it was just too late to make an impact. Confidence doesn't worry me. We'll see if he takes the lessons from his mistakes at Stanford; there were a couple of times where he could have kept the ball and run for quite a while.

RichRod said Randall's hammie should be better by Saturday, so I don't think confidence will be an issue either.

Lot of people must be throwing money down on the Beavs. Also guessing that Solomon didn't practice; RR says if he doesn't practice, he doesn't play.

I've been reading up some on concussion protocol trying to understand how they bring a player back from one, and why it would be taking longer than a week or so. In the past, players would go right back in the game after they got their bell rung. There's a lot to take in on this, but if protocol is followed correctly, it's a careful step-up with monitoring to make sure there's no lingering issues or setbacks. They'll go from walking, to some running, to some sport-specific activities, to non-contact drills, and then eased back into practice. Sounds like he's most of the way back. Concussions are nothing to screw with; these guys have their whole lives ahead of them. I'd like to have him back on the field, but only if things are done right, and it sounds like the staff is handling things well.

If you look deep into the numbers OSU gives up a lot. Michigan got 6.9 an attempt throwing and their main guys got well over 5 yac. SJSU got 8 an attempt from the starter and the main backs got 5'yac. The numbers on defense between UA and OSU vs Stanford very similar with UA being on the road when OSU was hyped up for a Friday Night game at home and OSU did not have the injuries on both D and O that UA has and having the O with the backup qb with no touch giving the ball back to Stanford as easily.

UA with a better offense for sure than OSU if Anu plays.

UA to cover easily if Anu plays

Reports of Anu practicing have driven the line back up to -9.5.

Just need to win this one any way possible and get some players healthy for next week. Way too much injury drama already this season.

Sounded like Griffey coming back next week. RR said he was running this week, expected to practice next week. Week after latest.

Even with Anu coming back, I am a little concerned and don't think it will be an easy W. Anu might have rust and certainly will/should be hesitant to run coming off the consussion. I think OSU keys on the RB run knowing that. Agree that this is a must win to get out of basement. A loss would be devastating to confidence and I think could start hurting recruiting. Let's go Cats.

o damn, if tucson's getting some of this high-pressure dome heat that's hovering over ca and nv right now, that 1pm kickoff might suck. it'll probably be much worse for the beavs, though. :D

hope i can find the game on the radio while i'm driving back to los angeles tmrw...

It is supposed to be 95 in Newport today, when it is ever hotter in Newport then Tucson...crazy weather

I think Arizona 42 - Oregon state 31

I think our defense still struggles but with ANU we out score them as not impressed with their defense.

Whose bright idea was it to have a 1pm game in early october????

Can we please stop with this ignorance or bad joking?

Want to know the person who decided to do this? Greg Byrne and Miller and everyone else in every administration in the conference who wanted better exposure for the conference and a network. Honestly I know tons of people who say our fans are complaining babies and I can't prove them wrong with posts like this and others on this board.
