Dawkins is a 6'3", 210, redshirt Sophomore quarterback from Oxnard, CA. He played in 6 games last year seeing the most action against AssU. On the year he had 20 completions on 38 attempts (53%) for 334 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. He also had 22 rushing attempts for 217 yards (9.9 y/c) and 2 TDs. Since 5 of those games Dawkins was playing when the game was already decided lets look just at the AssU stats when he was the primary QB. Against the scum, Dawkins was 16 for 30 passing and threw both his 2 TDs and 2 INTs and ran 21 times for 78 yards and 1 TD.
Dawkins, if you haven't heard, is battling for the starting QB job. Coach Rod has said he will get equal reps with the 1's for these last 2 weeks. Even if he doesn't end up the starter, Dawkins should see significantly more playing time this year since he has earned the coaches' trust and should see more time at the end of games or when the offense stagnates.
