Ironic that all of the "fear of MIGHTY HOUSTON" posts are coming from the leader of the "Woe is our program, we can NEVER compete with the big schools" brigade - so 'we should be thrilled to go 3-6 in the PAC and make a bowl game'.

It is a small school in a shit conference that has to compete with all of the Big 12 and much of the SEC for their homegrown talent, and yet they can still build a formidable program.

Why is that? Because of coaching. You cannot tell me than neither Sumlin nor Herman would have come to UA over Houston if both schools had offered each simultaneously.

Let's be real here.... Houston is not Texas or Oklahoma. They make better hires than we do.

We should have fired RR to hire TH right after the Fiesta Bowl?

No but there have been tell tale signs during and since that season. One thing an AD should be good at is evaluating the recruiting being done. We have noticed it along with the attrition and GB knew they had coaches who would not hit the road.

Now maybe his first chance for change was last year but it still has to be alarming that you are losing more kids then you retain.

In my heart I honestly don't think it gets better consistently because RR is who he is. Kids want to go to the league and he doesn't put players there. If it was up for a vote, I would vote change

No AD knows how a head coach will respond to a long-term contract extension until it happens. More often than not at the highest levels of the game, it's become a scam--IMHO the biggest in D-I college sports.

And we're all unavoidably on the hook for it until the end of next season. Buckle in, folks.

I polled my household and 4 out of the 5 of us completely forgot about it. The dog gets a pass though since he was only born a few months ago.

Chi a lot of us have forgot about this match up. It not just 4 or 5 that did forget. It was only matter of time until something like this was going to get brought it about next season.

100% agreed. RR continues to recruit undersized kids who are not durable when going up against true D1 Athletes. I would never want to play in RR's offensive system because its pretty much impossible to stay healthy for a full year. I cant think of one recruit that has stayed healthy for a full year on the offensive side of the ball. I figured the defense was going to be garbage this year and probably next year but the offensive struggles are what trouble me the most. Arizonas offensive production this year is terrible. I dont see it getting better as the line continues to struggle and the QB is what seems like a solid hit away from being out for a few games. RR has not evolved his game and continues to think WVU offensive philosophies work still. Put a D1 Athlete on todays USC up against Pat White and see how he does. It seems silly but todays athletes are far stronger, faster and smarter than a 2007 D1 athlete.
