Coleman is a 6-2, 216, Freshman safety from West Mesquite HS, Mesquite, TX. Last year he had 71 tackles (8 for a loss), 1 sack, 1 int, 3 pbu, and 3 forced fumbles. Coleman is a versatile safety who looks like he has spur skills and may have the size and skill set to compete for playing time this year. He originally committed to ucla, but ended up following Demetrice Martin to Arizona.
Brandon Combs breakdown: I like what Coleman brings to a defense. He can line up at nickelback, safety, or even linebacker. He is effective coming off the edge and flying to the quarterback. He is also a hard-hitter and has decent coverage skills. His versatility will inevitably help the Wildcats and I’d expect him to have a solid career in Tucson because of it.

Coleman’s thoughts on becoming a Wildcat: “Really exciting! I had committed back on my official in December but kept it quiet. Everyone’s been asking me where I’m going so it’s been difficult to keep it secret.”

46 is the most turnovers an Arizona team has recovered in a season. The 1954 Wildcats had 20 interception, 24 fumbles recoveries, and 2 block kicks recovered. Last year we had 19 interceptions and 6 fumble recoveries.

Coleman bumped for day 9.

9.5 tackles for a loss by Kylan Wilborn led all Wildcats last year.
