Blackwell is a 6-3, 293, grad transfer defensive lineman from the University of New Mexico and Peoria, AZ. He played 1 year at Mesa CC before moving to UNM where he became an immediate starter. In 2 years at UNM Blackwell had 42 tackles (7.5 for a loss) and 2 sacks and was an All-Mountain West honorable mention in 2018. In last year's first game Blackwell had a season ending knee injury. He played for Arizona's new defensive line coach Stan Eggen at UNM and looks to be a quality player at a position of need for the Wildcats. A likely starter on the defensive line.
