Rodriguez is a 6-0, 186, redshirt Junior from Tucson. After playing in 7 games and getting 1 start in 2018, he only played in 1 game last year and got a redshirt year. Rodriguez has completed 44 passes in his career (52% complete) for 526 yards and 3 TDs. He will likely start the year as the #2 QB, but will have a hard time holding on to the spot as Plummer gains experience.
That was my thought. Surprised he didn’t transfer to be with his dad.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Especially since he will be 3rd on the depth chart here. Smart guy, knows the playbook, but can't toss it 20 yards on a rope like he needs too, and doesn't have the wheels like BJ Denker had to make up for it.
I really give Rhett a lot of credit for sticking it out here when no one would've blamed him for leaving. Don't like his dad, but Rhett clearly takes a commitment seriously.

He was always meant for a directional school if he stayed in FBS.
Yep. It still grinds my gears that he was on a full scholarship at UA when other kids (who didn’t have a dad pulling down millions in salary working for the university and who didn’t get the reduced tuition benefit being the child of an employee) had to walk on and pay their own way.
