There's really nothing cozier than going to bed at halftime, with sleep as respite for the horror of otherwise watching the second half, and with no impulse to wake up and check the score. By the next day, you don't have any hell to relive. You went to bad not having experienced the loss, and you woke up with no memories of the stinging reality of finalizing the failure.

I'll be at the tailgate for this one. My first post-baby social outing. Luckily I'm not staying for the game itself...

They're decent, so we'll look fairly competent but untalented and eventually lose by less than is expected.

That is a strange feeling. Other than NAU I haven’t felt that in awhile. Hopefully you are right

I'm thinking about going to the game, but wifey is a little hesitant on being in that size of crowd even though we're both double vaccinated. Can anyone tell me what the University has in place as precautions? Are all the students vaccinated? Is proof required for fans buying tickets? Masks? Thanks.

After the first home game fiasco they got everyone in as fast as possible for the NAU game. I was in the north end zone and lots of people wearing masks but there were very few precautions and no enforcement. You could easily find a place to sit away from everyone but would need to time your arrival and departure to avoid a crowd. 33K people at that game so just about half full. I would expect a little bigger crowd due to family weekend.

Heeke is using the honor code, saying you should wear masks while in concourses unless vaxed. So in other words, its the wild west in terms of precautions.

Yeah I'm going too Saturday and I've been a little worried about the complete lack of precautions and enforcement the university seems to be doing. I'm fully vaccinated of course but I'll probably still be double masked during the game.

Because we always win a white out?

White outs always make me nervous, we've lost a few important ones in basketball over the last number of years, even when we are good, white outs are bad juju.

My opinion.

If we win this one, it may change my whole outlook on them.

Seems like a few people are high on McCloud? Seems like he moved the ball better than the last 2 guys but still 5 picks? I'm just going to keep on assuming we are going to lose until I'm proven wrong.

I'm trying to decide whether I have the stomach for watching these games. I might have to wait for a clear turnaround in my absence and then jump on the bandwagon unearned.

Eh...I'm actually looking forward to the game. Weather's finally cooled off, and it looks like we're about done with monsoon crap and weird bugs. They looked better at Oregon, and they've shuffled the second-string O-line a bit during the off-week. It may be interesting to see what McCloud can do with more reps, more attention from the coaching staff, and a play list tailored to his skill set. As a huge underdog, there's motivation, but no real pressure. So, just go out, play hard, hope for a few bounces, and maybe UCLA will start to sweat a little. From a fan perspective, it's just have a few beers with plenty of room to stretch out, and the worst thing that can happen is same-shit-different-day, and leave early.

Yeah mosquitoes have finally died down and it should be in the 70s for the game, even in the 60s by the end. Perfect weather. My first game I've attended since the 2018 ASU game we lost at the final kick

I can see all that. I'm wondering about the element of game-planning for McCloud. Oregon looked caught off guard. This time there's film.

This is an honest question. Has any football game seen any spread?

Twat bag Clay Travis is not truthful or intelligent enough when he says spread is not occurring because cases in states with big football games have gone down lately. I wear my mask and keep as much distance as I can from anyone I do not know and know they are doing things right.

I have bet big for me already at UA +16.5 and will do more if it reaches 17.5 at any point

$40 instead of $20? :)

VT says no spread of Covid at football games, due to mass vaccinations. UA may of course be different, just being Arizona.

Well, the AFL Grand Final, in front of a full stadium in Perth was a superspreader in Melbourne three weeks ago. No big deal in Perth, but in Melbourne there were dozens of illegal watch parties and we're still on the upswing of the largest case numbers in Aussieland since the start of the pandemic.

Assholes.

Very true. But, unlike Cruz, he's not the Statue of Liberty back there. I'm sure you can pick up on some of his tendencies to cheat up on, but he still can react and freelance. I've also always been intrigued with self-scouting. Have a staffer assigned to do exactly the same video analysis on your own team that the opposition does. Anticipate their actions, and try to use it to set them up for counters for a couple of big plays. I'm sure it's easier said than done, and particularly with the limitations in college. (But we ARE coming off a bye week.)
