66 Days Coach Duane Akina

Akina returns to Arizona as a senior defensive assistant. He has coached twice before at Arizona; from 1987-2000 with Dick Tomey and in 2011 Mike Stoops final year. Akina was a fan and player favorite when he was here because of his passion for tough, smart football and the success of his players.
Akina is in a non-field coach position, but while Ricky Hunley was out for knee surgery this spring they quickly moved him on to the field. Having Akina back with the Wildcats can only make our defense better.
