A Macon man was treated at Coliseum Northside hospital Thursday after he accidentally shot himself in the penis.

The man was parked at the gas station at about 9:30 p.m. when he attempted to holster his .45. Immediately after the gun went off, he drove to a friend's house in Lake Wildwood. When he got to the friends house, he took off his pants and saw that he had "shot himself in the penis and that the bullet exited out of his buttocks." The spent round fell onto the floor.

The man's friend drove him to Coliseum Northside hospital and he was then transferred to the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

He didn't die which is usually required for a Darwin Award, but he may have removed himself from the gene pool so I guess he qualifies.

What was meant to be a funny dare turned into an utter embarrassment for an American exchange student, who found himself trapped in a giant stone vagina in Germany.

Firefighters had to be called in to deliver the man, head-first, to safety after his feet became trapped in the large marble sculpture at Tubingen University in Germany.

Dude must've been on some good sh!t to not have known until later that he shot himself through the penis and buttock.

A 50-year-old man died after he got a vibrator stuck up his anus and left it too long to seek medical attention because he was embarrassed, an inquest has been told.

Southwark Coroners’ Court heard it took Nigel Willis five days to muster the courage to get help after accidentally lodging a dildo inside himself last year.

Mr Willis, who lived in Forest Hill with his mother, was taken to Lewisham hospital in December but succumbed to his injuries in February this year despite having the vibrator removed.

The sex object had pierced his bowel, which led him to suffer septic shock.

‘The history was that his friend or carer called an ambulance because he complained of dizziness, weakness and was unable to move from the sofa for five days,’ said Dr Adebowale Adesina, who works as a consultant at the south-east London hospital.

Mr Willis, who didn’t have a job and was single, cared for his elderly mother with the help of his neighbour.

Taking selfies in cool and potentially dangerous atmospheres is often tempting, but sometimes it’s better to refrain and simply enjoy the view.

A Singaporean tourist reportedly fell to his death while taking a risky cliff selfie on Lembongan Island in Bali, according to Mashable.

Mohamed Aslam Shahul, 21, was in the midst of taking the photo when a wave crashing against cliff caused him to lose his balance.

"He could not control his balance when he was hit by a wave. He slipped and fell into the ocean," Nusa Penida police chief Gede Arianta reportedly said in a statement.

Though he only fell from about six feet up, Aslam apparently couldn’t swim. His body was reportedly recovered and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Man fatally wounded after shooting firework off his head

CALAIS, Maine (AP) - A young man who was drinking and celebrating the Fourth of July tried to launch a firework off the top of his head, fatally injuring himself, authorities said Sunday.

Devon Staples and his friends had been drinking and setting off fireworks Saturday night in the backyard of a friend's home in the small eastern Maine city of Calais, said Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety. Staples, 22, of Calais, placed a fireworks mortar tube on his head and set it off, he said.

The firework exploded, killing Staples instantly, McCausland said.

His death is the first fireworks fatality in Maine since the state legalized fireworks on Jan. 1, 2012, authorities said.

Calais is on the Canadian border near New Brunswick.

State fire marshals were also investigating several other Fourth of July fireworks accidents involving injuries in Friendship, Jefferson, Lebanon and Woodstock. They said most of the accidents involved burns and eye injuries. McCausland said further details were expected to be released later Sunday.

In 2011, lawmakers voted to repeal a 1949 law banning fireworks, reasoning that the industry would create jobs and generate additional revenue.

First fatal alligator attack recorded in Texas

A 28-year-old man who allegedly mocked alligators while standing near signs warning patrons of their presence has died after being attacked by an alligator early Friday morning in Texas. This is the first fatal alligator attack recorded in Texas.

According to Michelle Wright, an employee at Burkhart's Marina, she warned Tommie Woodward, a new resident of Orange County, Texas, to stay out of the Adams Bayou near the Louisiana state line. "I asked him please do not go swimming, there's a bigger alligator out here, just please stay out of the water," she explains to KFDM.

Orange County Justice of the Peace Rodney Price details to KFDM, "He said blank the alligators and there upon jumped into the water."

The warning signs -- reading: "No Swimming Alligators" -- were posted at the marina after employees spotted a 10-foot alligator in the bayou. "Next thing I know this girl is screaming an alligators got him, an alligator's got him and I grab a flashlight trying to zoom it over the water, trying to find him," Wright recalls for KFDM. "The next thing I know, I don't even know how long it was, I saw his body floating face down and then he's up there for a couple seconds and then he gets dragged back down and pulled off."

Woodward was allegedly "almost immediately attacked" after entering the bayou. Despite an unidentified young girl jumping in after him to help, his body was found about 200 yards away two hours later.

I'm still wondering if he's covering up for the fact he never actually finished the fox puzzle.

I have too much shame to have to explain to God why I did something so stupid that killed myself.

The human race owes that much to itself, but I guess the lower end of the species won't ever get that. At least they won't be wasting this planet's valuable resources on their survival.

I hate to always sound like Scrooge talking about decreasing the surplus population like that, but this thread basically demands it.

A guest at an Ohio amusement park was killed after he was struck by a popular roller coaster while he was trying to retrieve his cellphone Thursday afternoon, officials said.

Bryan Edwards, a spokesman for Cedar Point, told NBC News in a statement: "At approximately 5 p.m., a guest entered a restricted, fenced area of the Raptor roller coaster and was struck by the ride. Park safety officials responded immediately to the situation. Unfortunately the guest has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time."

You've been in foreign cities walking down the street and all of the sudden there's a 20-foot drop off one side of the sidewalk, without any railing or anything. Your job is to watch out for yourself and not be such an idiot. The idea of going past warnings and barriers to get hit by a roller coaster and then suing the park is pretty notable.

PEORIA — Police responded to a report of a gunshot early Friday to find a man screaming that he had been shot in the genitals.

Around 12:55 a.m. Friday, police arrived at the Green Diamond Apartments, 6516 N. University St., where a 24-year-old man was yelling that his genitals had been shot, according to a police report. The man, whose boxer shorts were soaked with blood, was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment.

Police described the man as intoxicated and uncooperative. Officers asked him about the location of the shooting scene and the identity of the gunman, including whether the man has shot himself. But, according to police, he would only reply, “I don’t know.”

Just taking a selfie has proven to be an act that carries the risk of injury. Unfortunately for a 43-year-old Concrete, Washington man, that injury turned out to be death, reports the Skagit Valley Herald.

According to Chad Clark, a Skagit County Sheriff Office official, the man and his girlfriend were taking pictures of themselves while at a suburban residence. The man was holding a gun while taking the selfies, with the girlfriend saying the man removed the bullets and reloaded the gun several times.

Unfortunately, there was a bullet that wasn’t removed after the last reload. Thinking the gun was empty, the man pulled the trigger while the gun was aimed at his head, and the gun discharged, resulting in his death. According to Clark, the death is currently under investigation as an accident.

To say that selfies aren’t worth dying for is a sentiment that shouldn’t have to be repeated, yet 2016 has already seen nine people, including this Concrete, Washington man, die while taking selfies. At this rate, 2016 should see more selfie-related deaths than 2015, which reports suggested had 27 selfie-related deaths around the world. Over half of those 27 deaths took place in India, which led the country’s capital city, Mumbai, to impose 16 no-selfie zones at locations around the city deemed too dangerous for taking self-portraits.

Out of the nine selfie-related deaths so far this year, seven have taken place in India. The string of accidents have included everything from falling in a canal to being hit by a passenger train, all occurring while taking self-portraits. Most recently, a group of five tourists fell off a cliff while taking selfies, and two of them sustained serious injuries. No one in that group died, though it is not hard to imagine that result.

Drivers Had Warned Each Other About Jogger Killed By Car For Years

NORWOOD PARK — When Edgebrook resident Angie Stancy heard that a jogger had been struck and killed on Devon Avenue near Milwaukee Avenue on Tuesday morning, she knew immediately what had happened.

For months, Stancy and other Edgebrook residents had complained on social media — and to police — about the woman who jogged on the road early in the morning against traffic, seemingly oblivious to the danger.

"She would run right in front of a car and force the car to stop," Stancy told DNAinfo Chicago. "She was totally focused on running, and didn't seem to notice how dangerous what she was doing was."

Cynthia Tatman, 56, was jogging east in the 6300 block of west Devon Avenue in the westbound traffic lanes when she was critically injured, said Chicago Police Officer Nicole Trainor, a spokeswoman for the department.

The crash happened after the driver of a car swerved to avoid Tatman, but the car behind it was unable to avoid hitting her, Trainor said.

Chicago Police are still determining whether to charge the driver of the car in connection with the crash, according to a statement from the department.

The stretch of Devon Avenue where the accident occurred has sidewalks, and is adjacent to the Caldwell Woods forest preserve.

Tatman lived about a mile away from where she was struck, police said. Efforts by DNAinfo Chicago to reach her relatives were unsuccessful.

In February, a man posted on NextDoor.com — a neighborhood-based social network — that he almost hit the woman, who was dressed all in black, while on his way to work. He warned others to be on the lookout for her.

That message drew 76 replies, including dozens from Far Northwest Side residents recounting their own close calls with the jogger and wondering what they could do to prevent what many said was her inevitable death or injury.

"I'd hate to be the person who accidentally hits her," Stancy posted.

Stancy — along with several drivers — wrote that they stopped their cars to tell the woman how much danger she was in while running in the street, only to be cursed at or ignored.

"She was very belligerent when I spoke with her," Stancy said, who captured the jogger in the street in front of her home with her security system. "It was very frustrating."

Others suggested taking up a collection to purchase reflective clothing for her, while some said they had asked police from Chicago and Niles to speak to the woman.

Complaints on NextDoor about the jogger date back to October, but Dawn Saphir-Pruett said she saw the jogger nearly every day for three or four years on her way to work.

"It got to the point where when I got to that part of my commute, I knew to be ready to swerve to avoid her," Saphir-Pruett said. "I always checked to make sure I could change lanes and avoid her."

But even though Saphir-Pruett was on the look out for the jogger, she was very hard to see in the dark mornings of fall and winter.

"She often wore dark clothes with a hat pulled down low over her eyes," Saphir-Pruett said.

Both Saphir-Pruett and Stancy said they did not think the driver should face any charges in connection with the fatal accident.

"I feel terrible for the driver," Saphir-Pruett said.

Chicago Area Runners Association Training Director Leah Bohr said that while her organization advises its members to run only on paths separated from traffic, some do prefer to run in the opposite direction of traffic.

"Some people say they like to see what is coming at them," Bohr said.

However, there are plenty of "preventative measures" runners can take to reduce the threat of being struck, Bohr said.

"This is an incredibly sad, unfortunate situation," Bohr said. "I feel so sorry for the runner's family as well as the driver and his or her family."
