Burns is a 5-10, 181, redshirt Sophomore cornerback. He played in the first 2 games of his true Freshman year, but an injury led to a medical redshirt. Last year, Burns started every game at corner leading the team and the conference in interceptions with 5. He had 81 tackles (3.5 for a loss) and 7 pass break-ups and was named first team all conference by the College Football News. Burns was picked on early in the season as the weaker corner on the team, but improved all year and more than proved he deserved his spot. Burns will start at corner again this year and may be asked to play even more if we can't find quality corner depth.
