Arizona @ Hawaii Prediction and Discussion

Arizona (0-0) vs. Hawaii (0-0) Game Preview

Arizona needs a hot start to kick things off after going 0-2 last season. Getting rolling in Week 0, Kevin Sumlin’s squad will have the August 24th night to be in the spotlight against a dangerous Hawaii team with a whole lot of firepower.

The Rainbow Warriors have a brutal schedule without a whole lot of fluff. With 13 games to play, getting to the seven-win mark is going to be a problem with more Pac-12 action to follow against Oregon State and Washington.

Why Arizona Will Win
Do the Wildcats have the defensive backs to handle what’s coming with the Hawaii passing game? Short answer? Sort of.

This should be one of the Pac-12’s underappreciated defenses with a terrific linebacking corps and the hope for more of a pass rush, but with a strong group of safeties to work around, the pass defense should improve, too.

The Wildcat offense should be able to rip apart the Rainbow Warrior defensive front. Khalil Tate won’t have too many problems bombing away, but it’s the revamped and improve offensive front that should take over for a ground game that won’t have a problem blowing past the 200-yard mark.

Why Hawaii Will Win
Throw, throw and throw some more. Of course Arizona knows what’s coming, and yes its defense should be a whole lot better, but there’s still a massive prove-it factor after allowing 200 passing yards or more in every game but three, and with just seven picks.

Hawaii has an ultra-quick group of receivers who’ll thrive in a share-the-wealth sort of way. The offensive front gets everyone back, and there can actually be a little bit of a running game if the O wants to change things up a bit.

But at home, get ready for Hawaii to crank up the air show.

What’s Going To Happen

You know the fireworks are coming.

Both teams will land haymaker after haymaker, but the Arizona defense will come up with a few stops – Hawaii’s defense won’t.

There will be plenty of scary moments for the Wildcats, and there will be enough momentum swings for Hawaii to potentially take advantage of, but in the end, Arizona will end up running for about 350 yards as it takes over the game in the fourth. UofA will move to 6-0 all-time against Hawaii.

Fearless Prediction & Line
Arizona 47, Hawaii 37

Hawaii won't be able to stop Arizona's running attack.

Arizona will struggle to stop Hawaii but will be able to stop them at critical moments.

Plus I will be there so that will help

I think JJ goes for 160, Brightwell 80, and Tate 100.

Defense just needs to stop the big plays and Arizona offense needs to have very few 3 and outs.
