Big 12- 6-1 in the Round of 64
SEC will either be 9-4 or 8-5 pending the Uconn / Oklahoma game

From Illinois basketball?
Curious what kind of ads he does up there.

Can't wait til Monday when all the talking heads are wondering why the SEC lost so many games.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

The first round scoring margin was the highest since at least 1997.

All top 4 seeds won. Chalk Tournament so far.

The Big12 is 0-1 head-to-head vs the SEC, so far. And that was an #8 vs. #9 - virtually an even match-up...U.P. Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
My tournament summary after round 1
Serious separation from top of half the field to the bottom
Mostly blowouts and only 3 double digit teams advanced.
I predict hardly any teams over a 6 seed to get to sweet 16
Big 3 Conferences are dominating- 69% of field of 32 come from these 3 conferences/ expect that number to be even higher in sweet 16
Might be somewhat boring this week but I expect next week to be really really good

This is an after effect of NIL/Transfer portal.Alieberman wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 9:11 am My tournament summary after round 1

Prior to the Portal/NIL few players from the smaller/cinderalla teams would transfer during their careers. They would have to sit out a year and there was no financial incentive. Now if a smaller school has a player develop/blow-up they can transfer immediately and get paid.
This results in the rich getting richer and the poor (smaller schools) getting poorer. This will inevitably lead to fewer and fewer upsets in future NCAA tournaments.

Agree dmj- this does seem to be the current pattern… but everything goes in cycles… it will be interesting to see how long this lasts

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
Well, last year a quarter of the first round games were won by double digit seeds.
