I didn't know that I was holding back the program. Interesting opinion.
I was speaking to one of the assistant coaches this spring and he said some dude on a message board was hurting the cred of the program...he didn't name any names. ;)
I apologize beforehand if this question derails the thread again, but I'd like to know the answer.

Chief - Do you think you are the message board dude that is being called out for hurting the cred of the program? If it is not you, who do you think it is since you are so well connected in recruiting circles?

You and your info are both shitty.

Then ignore me if you feel that is the case. You don't have to respond. The kid is terrible at some basics on OL. Especially, at guard. He is sub par at tackle but decent at NT. If that's shitty then so be it. Mute me or kick me off the board. It's just an opinion. :D
If you don't like my opinion of your shitty opinions YOU can ignore ME. You don't have to respond. Mute me. It's just an opinion that you have a way overinflated ego and some horrendously awful takes.

Wyo was being sarcastic. No one is hurting the cred....they are recruiting like crazy and blowing up in SoCal. The program is on the rise in the recruiting world.

Wyo-cat is that true? Was the original post sarcasm and nobody ever said, "some dude on a message board was hurting the cred of the program"? I can no longer actually detect sarcasm unless I'm actually talking to someone.

Not true. Just putting some perspective in this situation.

All I've heard from assistants is that interest in UA football is higher than its ever been. Nothing about message boards!!

How does that work with the scholarship limit? 5 go into next years count?

Early enrollees counting towards this year (Braxton is one) and grey shirts counting towards the 2018 class.

Well like Chief said Xavier Bell has committed. Does that mean Rhedi Short isn't AZ bound?

RR's kid only counts a 1/4 schollie. So they will have 3/4 to offer someone else.

THE OC IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!

I can never remember us recruiting a kid from Mater Dei for Football. Xavier was hurt last year for most of the year so didnt play much but did play against Serra and pick off Tate and make some good tackles on him that game. I asked a buddy who follows Mater Dei football and they think highly of Xavier and think he will blow up this year. He said could be a risk of getting better offers but we shall see. Getting hurt did not help his cause. I might go with him to a game and check him out live.

I think we still get Short too

As I said, this class is going to be done in like 72 hours

I LOVE the SoCal schools we are recruiting from this year

Long Beach Poly
Notre Dame
Helix
Mater Dei
Hawkins
Charter Oak
Colony

These are all schools that year in and year out produce D1 talent so making inroads is huge

I really like Bell's size, but I hope the recent commits at safety don't cost Rhedi Short. Probably one of the better athletes we're under consideration for.

Get Rhedi Short, Elijah Blades, with a chance with Thomas Graham. and that would be one helluva DB class

I feel confident saying with Donte on board, we will be bringing in our best secondary class ever as I think we get both Short and Blades. Graham seems like a stretch

We need a couple more OL and DL. I know Cody Sheer is visiting and think we had another OL visit last week. Love to see us get a couple nasty DE and DT's too.

Malik Hausman is a decent pick up. Good speed and very aggressive. He can play every DB position well...even Nickel.

We now have 5 DB's this class, after 6 DB's last class. Is it safe to say Blades and Rhedi are now off the board or will we keep adding to an already deep position? I guess it is possible Greg Johnson could play primarily offense, but everything I have read has made it sound like he will be a CB.

We only have 4 DBs in this class (Johnson, Hausman, Bell, and Young). Plenty room for one of if not both Blades and Rhedi.

First off, I hate Florida football. Second time they have stolen a big time DB from us.

Losing out on Blades sucks. This guy is an unreal athlete and would have been another 4 star player for us and I thought a lock for us. Short would be a nice prize to land but losing out on Blades is big as he would have one of our best recruits. His Nike Combine stats were off the charts, 4.44 Forty time at 6'2

I do like this class but we need a couple more 4 star guys in it and I thought Blades was one of them.

Whose next?

It does suck. Blades will be a five star now. Next up....Cody Schear.

This made me laugh. There is one person message board person who can hurt the UA's credibility: Jessie Wildcat. No one else is nearly toxic enough.

It's never over until signing day but it will be hard to sway him. Meanwhile, the back up plans will be implemented and at some point, they'll have to say "greys to play" in order to make room.

God knows we have been screwed from de-commits late in the game. I say you keep aggressively recruiting someone until they have signed a Letter of Intent.

Commitments now a days mean absolutely nothing until signing day

Yeah basically. It's like this with all recruits who commit to far away teams. Hes open to officials and a ton of early commitments don't end up staying with them. Not saying he's coming here but it wouldn't be crazy to me either way

Warren Jackson is a solid pick up. Great hands and size. Good route runner with good speed. Big upside. He could be a dark horse type player. I think he'll have a huge season for Alemany.

Looks to have Great size and good hands but his other measurables are pretty poor for a WR and surprised you like him Chief

4.89 40 and 4.43 20 Yard Shuttle are really poor for a WR

68 Sparq Rating is our lowest in a while

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/footb ... en-jackson

His main recruiting video on HUDL is also just ok and his offer list was only ok too.

You can't coach Size but seems like an average commit. Has upside with his size and will be interesting to see how he does this Fall at his new school.
