Getting Burries would definitely be the win we need with all the portal news. Maybe help convince anyone else from jumping ship because of how good we'll be?

Hearing lots of stuff from all over the map last night and this am. I was thinking the same thing: landing Peat and Burries and keeping Bryant and hopefully Bradley put Arizona in the national contender talk I would think almost no matter what else happens.

Been asking my guys where all this money is coming from and so far the best I can come up with is: LBJ.

Tho it does sound like we were in trouble for a while with Koa so its not like all of this was a preordained guarantee.

Edit: maybe "nationally relevant" is better than "national contender".

If we were in trouble with Koa then Tommy looks even better for getting that done. Crossing my fingers for good news today.

Chi always helping the old man LOL. Kind of cool Labron wants to help out with straight cash. Now he (LBJ) needs to stay healthy(so he can keep getting paid) for 4 years to get his son to multiple FF’s 😄

It will take LBJ a long, long time to deplete his accounts regardless of the "straight cash" he chooses to spread around!

I know he messed up his wrist in the playoffs. Do we know if it is the same injury or something new?

Conrad in the portal, but I can't blame him for wanting more playing time.

Yeah, he was never going to get significant minutes at the UA. Hopefully CTL will have a backup pg worth playing this year. I wouldn't be shocked to see ADO go also

I'm happy for Conrad that Tommy tagged him in the first place. But now he needs to cast his spore upon the wind and let it rip. Good luck young man!

I am probably missing something obvious, and I have ownership of ideas at play when it comes to Martinez (dude can't play at this level), but can someone explain why it is that Lloyd takes a player and gives him a scholarship when he knows he isn't good enough to play and will accordingly transfer out after 1 season?

It's one thing to miss on a guy who transfers out after 2 or 3 seasons of not developing and playing very much (see: myriad other foreigners who committed to Lloyd/Arizona) but why Martinez?

Maybe some contact he had in Europe wanted him to take CM and CTL felt like the risk/return was worth it not to burn a guy that has guided players to him

As good as anything I can think of!

And certainly better than another mis-eval.

This was Conrad’s 2nd season and he definitely did not develop or play much. So this does make sense to me from that standpoint.

I mean.. how many guys that are 10th / 11th or so on the depth chart ever really crack a team's rotation? Does that actually mean they are a mis-eval?

Think it's this redneck roll I am on.

First I post a call on Burries from a new friend that doesn't yet have a Winger Blue Check. Then I jam down on Lloyd for offering Martinez as a no chance 1 season cant play at this level and will transfer so what's the point of opening the hostel forgetting that he has been here 2 years. Then I try to high 5 Lando for being nice to me above and I pull my armpit.

I hate the off season.

I was always under the belief that the addition of Martinez was to land Ruben Prey who ended up at St. John's last year and did absolutely nothing of consequence, so truly I have no idea. You can see Martinez has some dog in him, but he's just too dimunitive to play at this level, so yeah...

The guys that have left don't care about how good we are going to be, they have other priorities. Veesaar is the only one that could come back, but we're going to have to pony up enough to keep him.

So you’re saying there’s a chance.

I wonder when he goes to North Carolina does he know we would counter or do we just ask him to come back before committing or does he have his agent communicate with us during the visit

He and his agent are giving us a chance. Arizona feels comfortable about the center position with or without Henri, so there will be a limit to how high an offer would go, but obviously they want him back. I don't believe Arizona would have to beat UNC's offer.

Just remember his girlfriend is not likely to be on the softball staff after this season, so his prime reason for staying in Tucson isn't going to factor in positively for Arizona.
