Great out of bounds play call. Congrats to the Cougs.
Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
Pretty easy play to make if they suddenly stop guarding the inbounder. That was wild.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Sampson said afterwards they had 3 options on that inbounds play and that was option 2. Executed perfectly.Chicat wrote: Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:12 amPretty easy play to make if they suddenly stop guarding the inbounder. That was wild.
Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
Yeah I don't get it. Everybody is talking about what a great play he drew up. Looks like a defensive lapse to me, two guys chasing a guy going to the corner for a three and leaving the guy under the basket open.Chicat wrote: Sat Mar 29, 2025 5:12 amPretty easy play to make if they suddenly stop guarding the inbounder. That explanation only makes sense if the player is catching a pass and gaining possession initially. And even then it doesn't really make sense that you can just keep going if you just juggle the ball.pc in NM wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 8:32 amSeriously, that was/is one of the worst explanations I've ever heard!!! If taken literally, he wouldn't call travelling on a player running down the court juggling the ball....
If Steretore is the rules guru it makes sense why there are so many bad calls.

The NBA had this issue with Rodman “juggling” rebounds halfway up the court. Not sure what rule they put in to stop that shit but they did.Postmaster wrote: Sat Mar 29, 2025 8:42 amThat explanation only makes sense if the player is catching a pass and gaining possession initially. I know chalk is boring… but all of these Elite 8 teams have basically been in the top 10 all year long
Pretty impressive

Chalk isn't as boring when I've been under the assumption Houston will make the title game this whole time. Who knows if they can actually get past Duke, but that Final 4 game will be amazing. Really hope it happens.

Even then, Rodman had just received the ball. Maryland dude was dribbling then picked up dribble then ran to the basket like John Riggins.Chicat wrote: Sat Mar 29, 2025 8:59 amThe NBA had this issue with Rodman “juggling” rebounds halfway up the court. Tech needs to rebound better if they want to win.

No way I can root for Florida with Golden as a coach. Scumbag
Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
That call when the guy hung on the rim was pure bullshit. If it wasn't basket interference (it was) it was hanging on the rim. Tech missed the front end of 2 one and ones which gave all momentum to Florida and make no mistake they took it. Wanted two B12 teams in the finals just to shut the SEC guys up. Now we will probably get 3 of them in the finals.

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
We are better than Alabama. I may be in the minority here but I want Duke to blow them out. IMO, Arizona is one of the best 4 teams in the country right now, but were unfortunate to be in the Duke bracket. The fact that coach K is gone makes me not hate Duke so much. I actually want them to join the Big 12, along with UConn and Louisville. Arizona got tough. That would have never happened in the Pac-12. When you add the lack of quality opponents and the whistle happy refs, Arizona was always at a disadvantage.
I am so happy being part of the Big 12. Better competition overall and more fun to watch.
Now back to the game.

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
I’d much rather have been knocked out by a Final Four team.

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
Our game was way more competitive than this.
Being petty I don't want the final score to be less than 7. Don't think that'll be an issue though.

Feel even better about our loss to Duke after this drubbing of Alabama
We were much more competitive and would likely have it even closer without that flagrant fiasco

Yeah, getting stuck with Duke really sucked. The slow start to the season doomed us in the end.

I really hope Houston wins tomorrow, I don't see Tennessee beating Duke, I really don't like Duke. I don't want to have our mantra be "well, we played Duke tougher than anyone else did"
Man they totally shut Sears down. How much better does Caleb's game against them look now.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Can we please never go to Atlantis again.

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
Thanks to NIL tournaments I don't think normal ones like Atlantis will be major destinations anymore. Probably why we're scheduling more home and homes.
So yeah, we're most likely done with Atlantis. Thank God.

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
Yeak, K State & BYU probably costs us just as much. We could have been a higher 4 or maybe a 3 and have a chance at making it to the elite 8

Re: NCAA Tournament Games 2025
I was listening to the beginning of the game on the radio, and the ESPN announcers were besides themselves on how bad Tennessee was playing and how good Houston was.
So good after Tech embarrassed the Big 12 last night.
Also, Duke/Houston is for the title. Whoever wins that game is going to win the whole thing. Probably going to be the best game of the whole tournament.

Had no idea Tennessee has never made a Final 4 before. They must really be feeling like shit. Not even a little sorry for them though.
