The guy never even visited. Must've felt the pressure to commit early.

Considering Arizona has very little spots left he had to shit or get off the pot if he wanted to come here.FightWildcatsFight wrote:The guy never even visited. Must've felt the pressure to commit early.
Was going to point that out too - Young easily has the size to develop into a Linebacker, heck, even DE if he can pile on the weight and keep the speed. Looks like a very workable piece for different areas of the defense. Use his redshirt year to figure out where, most likely OLB.Newportcat wrote: No idea about this player from Alabama, good offer list but I always get nervous with the commits from places far away that have never even visited
Update, Troy Young has pretty good measurables from NIKE Combine, SPARQ at 93
Looks like he's well suited to play the Stud LB position as an edge rusherNewportcat wrote:Love getting a JUCO LB who comes in next spring
DE seems like a big stretch since he is only 6'0 and 193 lbs but bulking up to be an outside Linebacker makes sense to me or that hybrid LB/Safety role.CatsbyAZ wrote:Was going to point that out too - Young easily has the size to develop into a Linebacker, heck, even DE if he can pile on the weight and keep the speed. Watch his tape. He currently plays as an edge rusher, and should fit in well at the new Stud position within the new defense. Like Paul Magloire's going to be playingNewportcat wrote:DE seems like a big stretch since he is only 6'0 and 193 lbs but bulking up to be an outside Linebacker makes sense to me or that hybrid LB/Safety role.CatsbyAZ wrote:Was going to point that out too - Young easily has the size to develop into a Linebacker, heck, even DE if he can pile on the weight and keep the speed. I just worry about a kid from Alabama staying true to his commitment if more SEC/ACC schools closer to home offer him.
Link is to a 247 sports article on the top 17 recruiting steals for 2017. We have 2 in the top 17.whatisee wrote:http://247sports.com/Bolt/17-for-17-Big ... s-46431619
9. Nathan Tilford, RB, Arizona - A big back that USC offered in the 8th grade. One that Michigan and Tennessee went after. A four-star recruit in southern California pursued by Arizona State and UCLA. And he opts for Arizona? One of many gems this cycle for the Wildcats who has the top class in the PAC-12 for the first time in recent memory. Rich Rod’s spread tempo offense means less numbers in the box and more touches for Tilford. His hiring of Donte’ Williams, one of the top recruiters on the West Coast, proved big in this instance.
1. Greg Johnson, CB, Arizona - Johnson’s high school, Los Angeles/Hawkins, is literally blocks from USC’s campus. The Crystal Ball was a heavy lean to the Trojans before the four-star cornerback surprised many by picking the Wildcats. This is one of Arizona’s bigger gets in the last decade landing a U.S. Army All-American. Ace recruiter Donte’ Williams is showing he’s a future rock star by going into USC’s backyard and landing a Top 100 recruit. That’s the essence of a steal.
Being recruited at DE is my understanding.Chicat wrote:We want him for offense, right?

So why delete the Arizona tweet if he was just giving love? Sorry man, I don't buy it.chiefzona wrote:ChooChooCat wrote:Lol dude makes an Arizona related tweet and 2 hours later commits to USC. Kid is a head case. Bug called it.
He was giving love to Arizona for their time. He appreciated it but he was dead set on USC.
Probably lined up for the Stud spot. He's going to have to put on weight. Not playing WR any more will help that cause.CatsbyAZ wrote:Jalen Harris commits! Mesa product with offers from ASU, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, Oregon, OR St, Vanderbilt & WA St.
Scout has JH ambiguously pegged as an "ATH." Rivals ranks him as a DE. I'm assuming the coaches targeted him for the DL where bodies are needed.
He's a "in the moment" kind of guy.chiefzona wrote:ChooChooCat wrote:Lol dude makes an Arizona related tweet and 2 hours later commits to USC. Kid is a head case. Bug called it.

Really no lowdown as he barely played for Arizona Western last year but is a good athlete for his size so a gamble type recruit that either works out well like Gerhard or he does nothing here as he never picks up the game.wyo-cat wrote:Can some of the folks down under give us the lowdown on this guy??
Bingo! Dude is like the #2 recruit in the state by a few services and he should have walked on?Newportcat wrote:Azcat49 was being completely sarcastic as CheifZona hates Drew Dixon and think its a wasted scholie and should have only been given a chance to walk on
