Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
Not going to get in a back and forth insult session with you. Just posting on what I saw about depression, this shit is real. Wasn't trying to be funny or trolling, sorry if I offended. Will go back to reading and lurking now. That we don't get severe punishment, and things will go on as normal. At ...

Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
No, it is not. When you lose something you love, you go through the stages. I have seen some of the "best" posters here say they are depressed, can't sleep etc, felt sick. I have seen denial postings. I felt sick too. This is a game changer. I hope, the issue is so widespread (as another person said...

That we don't get severe punishment, and things will go on as normal. At least, that is how I read it. Seems like you are holding out hope that we get "grouped" with other programs, and somehow escape severe punishment. At least that is how I read your comments. I hope you are right, and this blows ...

Seems like you are holding out hope that we get "grouped" with other programs, and somehow escape severe punishment. At least that is how I read your comments. I hope you are right, and this blows over without the loss of our coach and loss of players and overall program. How many message boards doe...

Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
I was sick when I read these reports. You are clearly stage 1 and 2. I feel like I lost something very close to me. Hopefully I am wrong, and as Odog says, this is so widespread that we somehow get out of this without any problems. You are right about my Mom, I don't talk to her much anymore. Seeing...

You are in stage 1. I have read this board, and the old AZ message board for years. I am class of 1999. I think you are a good dude and post some good stuff.Olsondogg wrote:How many message boards does slappy visit to post that same thing today? Don't forget to change the program name before posting.

Seeing the 5 stages of grief play out right now.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
Best to get to acceptance stage. Arizona BB is in deep shit.

Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
There's an old saying......The more rules a society has, the more it is corrupt..... Anyone read the NCAA recruiting rule book and what is a "violation"? lol Hopefully this is the tipping point that allows high demand athletes to be paid more fairly for their services. Yes they get paid with free ed...

Re: Sean Miller
Growing up in North Carolina and having some UNC donors I can tell you that if we wanted to avoid Miller to UNC then Roy should have retired after he won the Natty this year. Miller dropped a few pegs in the thoughts of those folks after the Xavier loss. Now if he goes to the FF next season and/or ...

Re: This One's On Miller
Miller said the team lacked confidence and that's on "him". How does that happen after so many games, practices etc? You could see it especially in the final few minutes. Surely there are some management "gurus" on this message board. How do you destroy confidence and how do you build confidence fro...

Re: Sean Miller
Heck, people are complaining about Trier and hero ball right now. Exactly how would that go if Miller was looser and let Trier run free. We would be in Phoenix. He has been a coach since 2004, enough is enough. He is a brilliant technician and will always recruit at the highest level, top 5 stuff. ...

PJC-Good enough to beat two teams still alive in the tournament, win a conference regular season title, a PAC-12 tournament title and almost beat a hot Xavier team when the entire team and coached performed pitifully but not good enough for D1 per 97? Dont get it at all Because it is just untrue. O...

Re: Sean Miller
Saying Miller needs to stop micromanaging or saying he needs to give the players more freedom to "run the show" is like asking someone to change their personality. It's like telling your OCD neat freak Grandma to quit worrying about the carpet. It is a nice thought, but a complete waste of time. I ...

Re: Sean Miller
He'll break that ceiling (or is it a roof) and get his title. This is the same nonsense they say about all good coaches until they do. Just like Mark Few potentially making his first Final Four. Roy went through it. Self went through it. Jay Wright went through it. Donovan went through it....etc. T...

Re: Sean Miller
Nice post rgdeuce and I agree with some of it. The coaches you list Jackson and Wooden let the players be free within their systems to run the show. Listen to Bill Walton gush about Wooden and the freedom he gave his players, and the results obviously speak for themselves. There are just too many bi...

Re: Sean Miller
Remember Mike Stoops? The rage and "panic" attacks he would have on the sidelines. This is a sign of fear. His teams played scared in the big moments, and choked. Oregon 2009. Miller is so much smarter, no comparison there, but his team's play scared in the biggest moments, instead of loose, and free.

Re: This One's On Miller
97cats: I look at you as one of the best posters here. I disagree with some of your take though. I agree this is 100% on Miller. But, this team beat UCLA 2 out of 3 times (should have been 3 out of 3), beat Oregon, took a share of the PAC12 title, and outright tourney champs. The talent was not the ...

Re: Sean Miller
But teach, and then get out of the way! Lute had more than his share of flameouts too, but that's one thing I liked about him, he figured he taught the players well enough that they can figure out how to win just from his coaching. Don't remember Lute ever running out of timeouts, and more often th...

https://twitter.com/SethDavisHoops/status/845136479047200768 He surely does not deserve hate. But he does deserve criticism. He even rightfully took the blame. Re: Sean Miller
The "uptight" angle is one of the most overplayed things on this site. Miller doesnt beat these kids, play D/team ball or come out is not a new concept, and they have all seen Millers intensity w a coach before. I disagree......The stunt he pulled on Tarc last year (mental beating, public embarrass...

Re: Sean Miller
rgdeuce: Micro management is a culture. It creates an "up tight" tense environment. I saw one analyst talk about why he wasn't going to pick Arizona out of the west because despite Arizona having the most talented roster, the players get tight. You can't be at your best when you are "tight". We have...

Re: Sean Miller
One poster said Miller is stubborn, and another said he will go to multiple final 4s for North Carolina. I disagree with both. I saw changes in Miller this year. Subtle differences and a shift from do anything to win to just be at your best..... That is the mindset of a champion, and I thought this ...

Re: Sean Miller
To get a sense of Miller's pure genius, take a look at the players faces, especially Kobi during the .9 timeout - pure joy. Miller's latest press conferences and interviews should get all Cat fans very excited for the future. His leadership skills have gone "off the charts" with statements like "we ...

Adding to the mystic of this run, their plane had mechanical issues, and they didn't arrive until 4AM for the sweet 16 match up against Kansas.
Dickerson said all he wanted to do was sleep, and they basically got none.

Re: This team is soft in big games against good teams
In essence, you worry If this team would have played the same game they played against CAL, that same intensity, same effort level, they beat UCLA, by double digits again. The defensive intensity was there, but they for some ungodly reason, stopped fighting for rebounds, but an easy fix. The tourne...

Re: This team is soft in big games against good teams
Killervibe would have had multiple strokes, heart attacks, and countless pointless posts in 1997. I was there and saw: Losses @ New Mexico, Michigan, USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Stanford, CAL Home loss to UCLA. Watching Digger Phelps go nuts asking who Lute paid off to get a 4 seed, the team was ...
