Every fans sadly remembers those game stats, but that doesn't mean that either one "shot us out of" anything!
That was my impression watching the games. Hard to quantify it otherwise. No published shot charts then, although the coaching staff had them for sure.
And at least with Gardner, the general consensus at TOS too.

My recollection of the '88 Final Four loss to Oklahoma, I don't have a real clear recall, but I remember that I did not " cringe" once on Kerr's jump shots at the release, and was shocked by how many missed. - "bad luck", not "bad shots"...

I’ve got no problem with Love and his shot selection this year. Most of the time he takes bad shots is because no one else is hitting either. It’s doesn’t appear that he’s trying to play hero ball to me.

He took two consecutive "bad" shots, was benched, and Pastner noted it.
There are times when you can see that, almost no matter what, he's gonna take a shot - it's like he just can't help himself!
That said, he's a great player, I love his game this year, and looking forward to what he's gonna lead us to...

Great game by the Wildcats against the Oregon Ducks. My only concern was the bully ball COUISNARD played in the second half. That is exactly what Houston's guards do to their opponents and also what we have seen recently from Tennessee. This is a wakeup call but I assume it was a combination of factors. One was our big lead and the second being that Couisnard is the most experienced guard in the PAC along with being a great player.
Thank you so much the seniors for your hard work and dedication. It's really appreciated and worthy of our respect and commendation. It was great to see Kenny Lofton be put into the ROH albeit long overdue. Great game by the Cats today. We really need this version of Boswell every game. Hopefully the team carries this momentum into the LA trip. I'd love to see Arizona win it's last Pac 12 game at Pauley. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.

Back on old school for a sec, Josh mentioned that Lofton ran a great baseline on the 1-3-1. Just wanted to give props to Jason Gardner doing that too. Gardner was just as good if not better. When Shakur came in, he tended to cheat or get lazy. Probably the time Lute went away from it.

so no thanks to ucla today, arizona has a half game lead on wazzu heading into the last week of the regular season. wsu has udub at home next week, and the 'cats make one last road trip to the socal schools. help me game out next week's matchups.
if wazzu wins:
uofa would need to at least split the ucla / usc series to win a share the reg season conf title ('cats win the conf outright if they sweep the LA schools; wsu wins it outright if uofa gets swept)
if wazzu loses:
uofa wins the title outright if they beat at least one of the LA schools (and is reg season co-champs with wazzu if the 'cats get swept)

also, when was the last time the wsu won a title in the pac-* era? it would be pretty wild if they won a conference title in the final year of the pac-12. but it would be even wilder if they were to come thiiiiiiiiiis close to finally winning it, only to get cougblocked by arizona.
I wouldn't be surprised to drop 1 game in L.A. but would to drop 2. Tommy Lloyd basically doesn't lose back to back games.
It would be nice to win the final Pac reg season title, but let's face it: this team has larger aspirations. I wanna see the "Arizona returns to the Final Four; first since 2001" headlines on the morning of March 31st.
The only real question is: Will Oumar finish with 20 consecutive double-doubles???

So here's UCLA. Since we played them, they won six in a row (@ USC, OSU, Oregon, @ Stanford, @ Cal, Colorado), and then they've lost their last four in a row (Utah, USC, @ Washington, @ WSU.) If I understand correctly, Will McClendon will be suspended (first half?) after being ejected in the second half of the WSU game.

ucla is a team that can look like absolute crap for entire halves of games, but then out of nowhere their guards will heat up and make people think they're about to turn the corner and go on a run. Against us, I'd expect them to shoot 70% from 3 and get every call.
Some of it probably has to do with the mood of the team. You see their players fold their tents on the road, and you can easily assume Mini-Me has lost them, which I'd probably agree with if they were senior-laden. But, they're very young and I suspect can still be pretty easily influenced. So I can see baldy's pre-game speech about not letting us celebrate another likely title after a win at Pauley the last time they get us there. ASU is actually their last home game of the season, but it would be pretty flat after a Thursday loss to us. And no doubt our favorite munchkin will work the refs like there's no tomorrow. So, we need to prepare for them shooting lights out, and all the climbing backs, reach-overs, flops, punches, and elbows that he teaches.
I would recommend Sonoran dogs for the UA experience next season. But since the Big 12 has their own dog, maybe green corn tamales or carne seca. Even a chimichanga, if you really really like chimichangas.
ASU can handle the drinks.
Saying that, I have no interest in WWE or DJ Diesel, so I would just skip that part if I was attending.

Completely agree, although I will continue to advocate (whenever I can) to move the Post season Basketball tournament to Las Vegas.
I see no reason to permanently cede home court advantage to the Chicken-Hawks. Las Vegas is the entertainment capitol of the United States and a major sports mecca. It would be a major improvement over Kansas City (Cowtown)
Had dinner with a guy who is the head of entertainment at a hotel (he mostly oversee’s the casino hosts) and he told those of us at dinner he believes the Big 12 will move its basketball tournament in three years to Vegas. Take that info for what it’s worth.

I think at 10 out of the 12 current B12 schools would want Vegas, just KU and KSU for travel reasons. Maybe OK State. I imagine it has to be unanimous to move it.

Why? After the agreement ends with Kansas City they can move easily wherever the commish wants
