Maybe free time or guessing because Parks also on the same LA 7v7 travel team as 2016 QB Shea Patterson and 2015 #1 WR Tyron Johnson who is reported to be taking one of his officials to Arizona.

Parks been getting lots of interest lately. All the above?

Yes, and maybe another 'honey badger' to be.

Comparing him to Honey Badger reminds me of when I read an article that compared Nick Grigsby (coming out of HS) to Reggie Bush. No way. This kid's highlights are impressive, though. But now way the physical specimen that Honey Badger is.
They have nearly identical measurements and both possess physicality and finesse on defense and both have play-making ability with the ball in their hands. Also, outside of LSU, pretty similar types of offers with Parks having a slight edge. I'm ok with the comparison, because it's just a comparison. No one is saying he is going to be the second coming of the honey badger, just saying that he has similar qualities about his game.

Wildcat Radio podcast interviews new recruit Antonio Parks. Fun interview and a good insight into why our coaches stand out in recruiting. Wish we could get one of these for every recruit.

Was always a believer that Tabor was coming here. Fought you against KM because I had heard all Vol until today and if he does commit to Arizona I'll never be happier being wrong

I seem to remember you fighting me on Tabor but I could be wrong. Let's hope you're wrong about KM. Muah ah ah.

I'm no insider or anything like that. But to me, the Tabor recruitment just has a different feel. When he spoke on his recruitment he would always go on about Arizona, and talked about that "home feeling." With Alabama it was just a "they get guys to the pros." I thought the analysts like Ferrell showed that their sight was not worth the $9 dollars a month or whatever by wholeheartedly writing UofA off. I mean, he foreshadowed the hell out of it! A person would have to be beyond ignorant (which most analysts have convinced me they are) not to believe UofA was a legitimate contender, if not the favorite!

It just seems so much different with McKenzie. He is very, very endearing with the UT faithful. Even had a tweet on the 4th of July of the "bucket" enjoying the fireworks. Other than the token Bear Down tweet every now and then to keep things interesting, it seems like we have become an after thought. Also, apparently there is a quote out there of him referring to Knoxville as a "second home." In my opinion, just based on understanding people, anytime people refer to places as "home," their decision is set that way. "Home" is a strong word for someone to use. I am pretty pessimistic, but when I heard Tabor refer to Tucson as "like home" I always though we were his choice barring members of his real home keeping him from it. I hope I'm wrong. But I cannot see him going anywhere other than Knoxville. This staff made a helluva run, making him consider somewhere other than where he was always going to go.

So tired of that recruitment. First recruit I had to stop following outside of Naijiel Hale due to it being too much. Just ready for it to be over with altogether and be done with the worthless Tennessee fanbase.

I never want to go head to head with the Tennessee fanbase ever again over a recruit. They are all borderline psychopathic.

Hoping it only helps with Johnson. Maybe with Arthur Mcginnis too (at The Opening now) who recently listed Arizona in his top 10.

Tyron Johnson this week listed Texas Tech his top followed by LSU

UPDATE:
Here's a quote from Kendal Franklin in Nola local paper on his commitment:

"I talked a couple of my teammates like Arthur McGinnis and we talked about Arizona.I talked to Shea Patterson the quarterback at Calvary Baptist that is committed over there and they were giving me good news about them (Arizona)."

So how are we feeling? Predictions?

I'm ready to shock the recruiting world! Let's put AZ on the map KM!!

I've been thinking Tenn the whole time because their fan base was so confident he was going to commit there. Then I realized Tenn's fan base is fucking insane.

So screw it, I predict AZ gets KM to commit (Dudek and Co. are wizards), and Tenn fans blow a freaking gasket and that will be entertaining as all hell.

I hope 247 is as wildly off target with KM as they were with Kendrick Jackson.

That's four or five from Louisiana now. That's nuts.

Listening to the kid talk in interviews....he just seems like a west coast kid, will fit much better at UofA and will be joining a program on the upswing. He clearly has connected with the coaching staff here.

Not going to "predict" that though as family ties and strong (but not recent) tradition can be hard to overcome.

Have to get on a plane at 6PM CST, just hope it's done either way before I board.

Went back thru Matty D's twitter and for a while there the #BucketGang tweets were frequent, he really backed of those the past couple of weeks. I find it strange that someone with his social media presence hasn't mentioned anything about this in a while.

I'm probably reading too much into this.

Indeed. He's been on vacation.

Or, maybe that's a hidden indicator that it's in the bag...........;-)

Caleb Peart announced for Vanderbilt. How does this happen?!?!

We need DL, he's right up the road and a traditional SEC doormat scoops him right up. Give me a break from the academics talk.

I heard he was never going to come here. If I remember correctly, someone from the old site (I think it was GladiatorCat) speculated that it was never in the cards and that the Peart family holds something against us.

Good SB Nation article on the impact the Independence Bowl had on recent recruiting. Here are some highlights, but remember since the article was written we have added New Orleans LB Kendal Franklin. So we now have four, FOUR Louisiana commits:
It seemed crazy at the time that the Arizona Wildcats coaching staff would have preferred to play in a bowl game not even associated with the Pac-12. Fresh off a thrilling New Mexico Bowl appearance, why wouldn't Albuquerque want the Cats back? And why wouldn't RichRod and co. want to play just one state over?

Well, that little trip to Louisiana may have paid off in a big way this week with recruiting.

Over the last three weeks or so, Arizona has picked up three, THREE, commitments in the 2015 class from the state of Louisiana. First, it was running back Orlando Bradford (Shreveport). Then this week has seen back-to-back commitments from DB Antonio Parks (Reserve, LA) and ILB Kendrick Jackson (Haynesville).

So, is it all the bowl game trip? Probably not. Reserve, LA is not close to Shreveport, but Haynesville is about an hour away.

It probably has a little bit more to do with associate head coach Calvin Magee, who hails from New Orleans, and went to college at Southern, which is in Baton Rouge. Magee has been the lead recruiter on these three commits.

But the bowl game certainly plays a role. Obviously, Arizona hasn't been hard on Louisiana, landing just three total recruits out of high school there since 2010. Now, three in three weeks. There's new ground for the coaching staff to take advantage of after that bowl victory over Boston College. Recruiting Arizona and California is all well and good, but how often are the Wildcats going to land the best talent when going against the likes of USC, UCLA, Oregon and others on a regular basis?

Now, there's a fresh pool of talent, one that can be sold on blazing a new trail from the Bayou to the desert. And now, that trail has three players leading that change.

Maybe playing that weird bowl game in a weird place at a weird time against a team we'd never dream of playing will have a long-term positive impact after all.
