Re: Sean Miller
I don't get the comparing Miller to other coaches, especially the way Miller has recruited. It is a crap shoot and Miller is great and done a good job. But it is not apples to apples with some of these other coaches.

Does this sound familiar?
"I mean, they out-rebounded us by 12 rebounds. That doesn't happen," Calipari said. "You think about this. We had six turnovers for the game. We shot 90% from the free-throw line, 60% from the three, and 48% from the field, and we lost? What does that mean they did?"

Yeah, it does sound familiar. Wisconsin is just super elite efficiency wise.

Actually, I watched both games. I believe if WI had had the game they had against UK against us, we would have won, and we would have beaten UK, too. If only pigs could fly.
Also, coach, it seems like the adage defense wins championships is out the window this year.

You are correct. They didn't shoot 84% from 3 in the 2nd half against Kentucky.psiclist23 wrote:Actually, I watched both games. I believe if WI had had the game they had against UK against us, we would have won, and we would have beaten UK, too. If only pigs could fly.

Kentucky played better defense on them for the most part. But both Arizona and Kentucky forgot the best strategy against Wisconsin, pound the ball inside and that is why each lost. If Duke sticks to that plan, they have a chance to win.psiclist23 wrote:Actually, I watched both games. Kentucky didn't play bad D. They forced more TO's than Wisconsin usually commits. The reffing was wacky, and that didn't really help either team, but Wisconsin got an assist with the refs calling it tight around the basket (except when you clock an opponent and somehow don't get a flagrant).
Re: Sean Miller
Love Sean Miller amazing recruiter and how he brought the program back is unbelievable. that said, ratface used zone against Wisconsin in the title game. I was told by many geniuses in this thread that you couldn't beat Wisconsin with zone defense?
my point is eschewing all non-packline defenses "just cuz" is like banning the three point shot because layups are "what we do".

It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: Sean Miller
Ron Popeil is to widgets what John Wooden is to college basketball. Can't help if you don't get it. Point is, it's hard. I don't get "the way he's recruited." That's a recent development. Wisconsin was a tough match up. Twice. Calipari can confirm.KaibabKat wrote:Who should he be compared to - a bunch of widget salesmen?PHXCATS wrote:I don't get the comparing Miller to other coaches....
Was there a year before that where Arizona should've gone to the Final Four?

Under Miller. 2014 isn't before that.
P.S. Should've gone as a 3 seed? (2005). Not before the game started.

Under that logic, you can add '11 to the list. We should have beat a sketchy Uconn team.gumby wrote:Under Miller. 2014 isn't before that.

I'm out from under that logic. Because we were sketchy, too. Barely survived Memphis and Texas.

Re: Sean Miller
His tweet about his neice, Archie's daughter, winning some event (presumably gymnastics?) is gold. "Congrats Leah...... Glad to see you got your mom's athletic talent."
He has an instructional video on youtube with him and two of his boys doing in and out dribbles and finishing with a layup. He instructs his boys to do an in and out dribble and finish with a layup off one foot on one basket, then do the same going the other way but finish with a layup off two. His middle son finishes off two on the first basket, and his oldest does it correctly. He effectively coached and trolled his middle son after the oldest did it right. He's a funny dude.

And Miller is taller than you think... it surprised me on the couple of occasions I have talked to him.

Re: Sean Miller
People always underestimate basketball players/coaches because they're surrounded by tall guys constantly. A 6'2 guy looks small on the court, but in real life, that's a fairly tall man. My uncle met Steve Kerr and was shocked bc he looked small on the court, but is big on the street.Harvey Specter wrote:I don't think Scooby is nearly as short as Fischer... Re: Sean Miller
Except Charles Barkley. He looked big on the court, and insisted he was 6'6, but he has maybe a half inch to an inch on me and im 6'3. That was a shocker

Re: Sean Miller
People always say that we'll never see another Jordan, etc. I've always thought Barkley and Magic were the two players we'll never see again. Most people think Barkley was 6'4, and he spent over a decade dominating people 6 inches bigger at PF. Magic...well, how many 6'9 PG's have we seen in 30 years since his peak days?rgdeuce wrote:Except Charles Barkley. Pretty good advice here:
Real fan!The Butcher wrote:Jesus..this just reached an entire new level of weird. Did you just really post a picture of your back?
Okay, I'll critique:
Less weight, more reps, fewer calories. You've got bulky muscle (you're not as huge as you think, don't get carried away) pushing FAT together there. Of course you could break an egg in there. Most women's teats do the same thing.
Advice:
To attain a sleek, muscular physique, use a volume training approach. This means doing a high number of repetitions with light weights to develop lean and toned muscles. Avoid training with heavy weights for a limited number of repetitions, as this strategy promotes hypertrophy -- which makes your muscles grow big and bulky. Engage in cardiovascular activity and eat a balanced, nutritious diet to shed fat, lose bulk and add definition to your muscles.
Salty, you're a big dude. But I think you could definitely attain greatness lifting differently and more often.
