U.S. Open?
WTF is this?
The ugliest course I have ever seen.
Are there even greens on this course?
Who are these commentators?
Is this really the U.S. Open? It's unwatchable

Re: U.S. Open?
Different course for sure for a US Open. Links style with what looks like poana greens.
As an aside to the course, Spieth looks like a real threat to win the first two legs

The Fox announcers are lowering the standard for the profession....

The greens are fine fescue and annual bluegrass (poa annua) from what I've heard.azcat49 wrote:Different course for sure for a US Open. Links style with what looks like poana greens.

Re: U.S. Open?
On NPR yesterday they mentioned the golf course is closer to ones in the British Open.
Re: U.S. Open?
The Fox telecast has been awful. Hopefully they can get it worked out because they have the rights to the US Open for awhile. As for the course, I hope they don't ever go back to Chambers Bay.

Brutal choke by Dustin Johnson on final hole.
Erlich Bachmann: Richard wrote the code, yes, but the inspiration was clear. Let me ask you something. How fast do you think you could jack off every guy in this room? Cause I know how long it would take me. And I could prove it.

Re: U.S. Open?
greens were terrible, but playing a links course made it so much more entertaining.

Re: U.S. Open?
Billy Horschel was hilarious. He missed several short putts and still shot 67
They finally figured out how to play that course Sunday but the greens were a joke all week

Re: U.S. Open?
Greg Norman out after just one year on the FOX broadcast. Seeing lots of noise about Azinger taking over. FOX does need to get someone that has been on TV doing the job before, which Azinger has done and done well.
Norman was touted as Fox’s version of Johnny Miller as the network took over the rightsholder of the U.S. Open last year. But instead, Norman often sounded aloof and confused. And when it was time for a strong opinion, Norman often went silent.
http://awfulannouncing.com/2016/report- ... -year.htmlAccorrding to Golf.com, a source close to Fox Sports said Norman’s performance puzzled the network, “he didn’t do his homework and he didn’t know any players who weren’t Australian.” In addition, the source said Norman was often unprepared:
“It was tough for the whole staff because he wasn’t involved in the shows like a lead analyst should be,” the source said. “Maybe he thought just being Greg Norman was enough. He’s been successful in everything he’s done in business but he wasn’t good at TV. He was a team player but when the cameras turned on, he just went silent.”
