Spurs have traded Splitter so they should be in a good position to land Aldridge. It seems like a very robust free agency this year with some crazy numbers being thrown around. The Heat have given Dragic a $90 million, 5 year deal & Anthony Davis has resigned with NO for 5 years $145 million. Wow!

But they just signed Danny Green. That's got to make signing Aldridge more difficult, doesn't it?

Looks like Love is staying in Cleveland:
I'm going back to Cleveland.

After Game 1 of the NBA Finals, that’s when it really struck me. Sitting on the sidelines, I never wanted to play in a game more than that one. I had dreamed of playing in the NBA Finals and I just wanted to help my guys win. I couldn’t have been prouder of them as they poured their blood, sweat and tears onto the court.

Yeah, of course I’ve heard the free agency rumors. But at the end of the day, and after meeting with my teammates (it turns out pools are great meeting places) and with the front office, it was clear Cleveland was the place for me. We’re all on the same page and we’re all in. We have unfinished business and now it’s time to get back to work.

No, Green will be signed after they make an offer to Aldridge. His cap hold is far less than his new salary would be. Aldridge contract is signed first which allows the Spurs to then go over the cap to re-sign their own players.

Suns using Chandler to recruit Aldridge and join them in meeting with him.

Thats a game changer for the Suns.

Lakers wont be able to do anything. That trade for the Knight might not be that great as the pick could be a top 5 pick again

Dont think anyone is really that sold on this next draft class and McDonough knew this was his plan when he traded that pick.

Big win for the Clippers as he's slotted for the tax payer's MLE, which means Jordan is re-signing.

Sam Hinkie wins again...

All people do is rip the guy. He kills every trade, Took on 2 years each of Jason Thompson and Carl Landry, stauskas, a 1st and rights to swap 1sts with kings in 2 other drafts for nothing

Correction thanks to JMark pointing out my accounting error on the other forum.

I was factoring Tucker into that Pistons deal and leaving out Knight's cap hold.

I believe Knight's cap hold is 250% which would be around $12 mil.

Still within striking distance, but I doubt the Suns want to initiate a sign and trade as that would hard cap them. Seems more likely they would try to dump Tucker and Markieff (as JMark noted). Knicks should jump all over that.

Seems that they've got a good shot at LMA. Hope it's not another cocktease blueballer free agency period for the Suns.

If I'm Suns, I wait until LMA gives word, then I'll trade Markieff/Tucker to any team under CAP for multiple 2nds, then sign outright Aldridge, Chandler, and put out feelers on what 3-point shooting veteran SF a package of Goodwin and either a 1st or a few 2nds can net.

I'd also pay close attention to what Philly does with Landry. I'd love to add Landry as backup PF if bought out, or maybe in trade for Tucker (if not the other) and picks.

I've said it for a while but this was the first of three offseasons where the West cannibalizes itself. The fortunes of a team like Phoenix can radically change if they land Aldridge, but the place and ceiling of the team can drastically improve.

Two days ago Love stayed out East.
Yesterday Monta Ellis left for the East.
Today DeAndre Jordan agreed to leave the Clippers and sign with the Mavericks.
Next week LaMarcus Aldridge will leave Portland and, with luck, also submarine San Antonio.

With another year, both age and roster attrition will take its toll on Duncan, Dirk, and maybe find Durant out East.

Another two years and Westbrook, Harden could both be on different teams and the Warriors could be facing hard times paying 55 million per for trio of Steph, Klay, Draymond with no bigs to speak of.

If Aldridge joins Phoenix, they might jump into top-4 next year.

Duncan/Popovich era Spurs just wasn't going to be complete until they crushed the hopes and dreams of Suns fans one last time.

They should sit pretty and offer Markieff and 1sts to Cleveland for Love now that he's locked up.

The Suns scream locked into mediocrity for all eternity. The roster doesn't suck, but won't win a playoff series, and doesn't really have much chance of changing fortunes for the time being.

On the left side of screen under each post profile there's a "PM" function.

I hate the Spurs too so I feel your pain. I only hate the Celtics worse and that's damn close. They have quite a team now though, it's gonna be hell of a year with them, the Warriors and Cavs next year. And Thunder too I guess. But 3 of their main guys are old as shiiiit and Aldridge is also on the wrong side of 30 when the season begins. They need a lot more to go their way than the other 2 teams I think.

They can rest Duncan until the playoffs. A lineup of Duncan, Aldridge, Leonard, Green and Parker is really good come playoffs. If Manu returns, they have some depth and could match the Warriors small ball lineups better.

It may not be enough to take it home, but it gives them a fighting chance.

Hadn't seen that. Thanks!

Yes, they're old, but they have quality and enough depth that Manu and Duncan can be fresh come playoff time. In terms of legit challengers to the Warriors, I have a hard time seeing the Rockets overcome their issues, but I think the Spurs have a real chance to dethrone GS.

Lee was a spare part for the Warriors too. He handled the demotion well, but I'm sure he wanted out.

Wallace is basically done, so this is entirely salary. I'm not sure Lee brings much for the Celts except potentially bump them into good enough to avoid the lottery, bad enough to never contend land. The Suns say hi.

Ainge pulled one off on the Wolves with the KG trade, and he's basically spent the rest of his career trying to recapture that magic without success.

Technically, Dan Fegan "stole" DJ from the Clippers. He is a close friend with Cuban and is Parsons' agent. He did everything he could to persuade DJ to sign with his "guys".

Our tipster, Paul, attended a bachelor party at The Strand House in Manhattan Beach, Calif., last Friday, and just so happened to find himself in close proximity to another group that included Mark Cuban, Chandler Parsons, Richard Jefferson, Blake Griffin, and Spencer Hawes. All of these people were in the club together just a few hours after news had broken that DeAndre Jordan was signing with the Mavericks.

Blake Griffin and Cuban then got in a heart to heart talk. Here are links to two videos that I took while pretending to be on my phone while they were having a fairly intense conversation.

My theory on this is that Mark Cuban told Blake Griffin why Deandre chose the Mavericks over the Clippers during his drunk, overconfidently filled rant. Blake then took that information and passed it on to the Clippers organization which gave them inside info on what to say to get Deandre back.

Chandler Parsons could have also disclosed some information to Blake as well but, it’s just funnier and more likely that Drunk Mark Cuban did it.
