Early Mother of The Year Candidate

Post by UAEebs86 »

Thought I'd start back up another classic old thread started by azlax04 at @ TOS:

A Florida mom was arrested after she used her 4-year-old son to trick a breathalyzer her husband installed in her car, according to WFTV Channel 9.
Police say a bar manager in Apopka called police after April King came into the bar and chugged a beer while her two children, ages 2 and 4, sat outside in a running car.
When police arrived, King was at the car and told police that she had just arrived.
A video recorded by an officer's body cam shows King's 4-year-old son grabbing the breathalyzer and blowing into it.

King's husband says he installed the breathalyzer because his wife has a drinking problem.
He is now refusing to bail her out of jail and is threatening to leave and take the children with him.
King is being charged with child endangerment for leaving her kids in the car. Police have not charged her with drunken driving because they can not prove that she was driving.

Dude has to leave her, right now, and take those kids.

There is no fucking way you can ever trust her alone with your kids again. Just no way at all. She'll just drive drunk with them in the car and who knows what'll happen.

Some fucking people....

I'm absoluetly positive this wasn't the first instance. The minute I would consider installing a breathalyzer in the car, I would be leaving with the kids.

I don't know the situation, but if she drove drunk with the kids once I might demand she go to rehab and install the breathalyzer with the firm condition that if she ever drinks around the kids again I would leave and take them with me.

It's tough though because if you love someone and they have substance abuse problems, you have to know that leaving them and taking their kids away is probably not going to make them straighten up. Meanwhile the threat of those things might.

Oh I'm sure it wasn't the first time. But if the breathalyzer didn't stop her and she's connived to have her kids pass it for her, you know you can never trust her again. If he didn't leave before (which obviously he didn't) the he damn well better wake up after this incident and leave now.

Court papers: Colleen Manuelito left children in car while at Arizona State Fair

http://www.abc15.com/news/region-phoeni ... state-fair" target="_blank
PHOENIX - A mother was arrested over the weekend after admitting that she left her three children in a car while she went to the Arizona State Fair, according to court paperwork.

Three children were reportedly found in a car with the windows rolled up without air conditioning near McDowell Road and 19th Avenue on Sunday.

Court paperwork said 28-year-old Colleen Manuelito first told troopers that her former boyfriend left her 1-year-old boy, 3-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl in the car while she went to get something at the fair. She then reportedly admitted to being the one who left them.

According to court papers, DPS took the kids to the first aid station on fairgrounds, and the 6-year-old girl said her mother left them.

Manuelito said her former boyfriend never came to Arizona with them at all.

She told troopers she lied because “she was embarrassed and has been mad at her ex-boyfriend.”

Her children were put in the care of the Arizona Department of Child Safety and faces several counts of child endangerment and one count of false reporting to law enforcement.

"hile she went to get something at the fair. "

Fried Twinkie?

It's too bad kids don't like things such as fairs and wanted to stay in the car.

Makes me wonder if she wasn't trying to kill them and then blame the boyfriend.

My career consists of ensuring that children are safe when they are in care away from home, and then I realize that alot of times they are safer when they are just simply away from their parents.

Sad.

Take any adoption classes and half of you won't want to adopt, with the current pro-reunification laws in place. You'll want to just take a couple kids and run far, far away from their biological families.

Exactly.

I see some of the places that people drop off their kids for the day and I used to think "How would a parent ever want to leave a kid there?" Then I learned that it is probably the best part of their day, compared to what is at home.

My wife had to testify to have a child taken away from parents because of refusal to fill and administer life saving medication. It was medication that was nearly free, and actually was considering that the hospital was picking up the tab. The parent just refused to give the child medication that would keep him/her alive.

Sometimes taking children away from parents is the absolute best decision.

Air France: Discovery in flight of a child hidden in hand luggage!

http://www.planet.fr/societe-air-france ... 29336.html" target="_blank
Stupor on an Air France flight. Reportedly, Monday night, the aircrew of an Airbus A319 between Ataturk Airport in Istanbul at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle in Paris has discovered a hidden child in hand luggage. "The cloth bag belonged to a woman sitting at the back of the unit, told us Vincent, a passenger on that flight AF 1891. At one point, she wanted to open it and its neighbor on the other row seats saw that something was moving inside. He therefore alerted the hostess who then discovered a baby aged one year or two. " Also according to this witness back from a long weekend and citing one of the aircrew, the child "was fine."

The passenger who saw the bag move was "very shocked"
Following this discovery, the woman and the baby were escorted to the front of the unit, where they remained until the landing of the apparatus. The passenger who had seen the bag was moving for his "very shocked" by the hostess who found the child. No comments have then been circulated at the microphone by aircrew to inform or reassure passengers. "They said nothing, but at least all the people sitting in the unit's bottom saw what had happened," says our witness. Aged 36, he continues: "People turned and talked among themselves Nobody could believe it.".

An investigation is under way
The baby was found while the aircraft had already completed more than half of its path. Contacted by writing, Air France press service confirmed our information, indicating that the child was "without a ticket." The spokesman for the airline, however, has not been able to tell us about the circumstances in which he had been placed in the bag or why. "The company requested the presence of the French authorities to flight arrival and fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation by the competent authorities," he said.

Texas dad put infant in fridge after leaving her in hot car

Michael Thedford CBS DFW

MCKINNEY, Texas - The Texas father charged with manslaughter after his 6-month-old daughter died after being left in a hot car Tuesday reportedly put the child in the refrigerator after finding her unresponsive in the vehicle, reports CBS DFW.

Michael Thedford, a former teacher in the Celina Independent School District, told investigators he dropped off his 3-year-old and 5-year-old children at a daycare center, while his wife was at work. He said he went home and went to sleep, forgetting his 6-month-old daughter was still strapped in car seat inside the minivan.

Thedford told police when he found the baby not moving, he took her inside and put her in the refrigerator, with the door open, then called his wife and 911, and attempted CPR.

When paramedics got to the home outside the town of Melissa, deputies say the child was still unresponsive. Temperatures were in the mid 90s by afternoon.

From across the street, a neighbor watched in horror as the adults discovered the child. Fabiola Contreras said Thedford and the child's mother were in tears.

Thedford posted $20,000 bond late Tuesday night. He has been charged with manslaughter.

An Oro Valley couple has been accused of child abuse after their 4-month-old was found to have cocaine in its system, authorities said.

The Oro Valley Police Department said the child's parents, Somchai P. Lisaius, a former reporter at Tucson News Now, and Krystin Rae Lisaius, a former reporter at KGUN 9, were indicted June 9.

MOBILE USERS: The KOLD News 13 mugshots of the month are available HERE.

Both appeared in court Monday, pleaded not guilty and were released on their own recognizance.

The child is in custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety but is staying with the baby's maternal grandmother. Krystin Lisaius has been granted 24-7 contact with the child while Somchai is allowed to see the child 12 hours per day.

The Lisaius are facing charges of child abuse with death or serious physical injury likely, possession of a narcotic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an Oro Valley police report, the couple took the baby to the Oro Valley Hospital on the morning of May 15 because the baby was lethargic and not eating normally.

The police report indicated that the couple admitted to snorting cocaine at a party at their home on May 14. Krystin Lisaius admitted to breastfeeding the child 12 hours after the drug use, according to the report.

The police report indicated that police found "baggies with white powder or white residue," less than 2 grams, and other paraphernalia.

Rushing your child to the hospital and refusing blood work? Sharp as a marble this couple is, unbelievable.

They knew what was going on and they also have a serious problem with the marching powder. Six months my ass, they're chalking it up whenever they can. I bet old boy can finely cut up a well done steak with his credit card.

Been following with interest the national feeds on this made-for-Nancy-Grace type of story.

Anyone got any personal knowledge of this story?

Back in my Pima CC days my Mom and I would watch the KOLD 10PM news every weeknight where Som was a regular crime beat reporter. He did a good job but did come across as the loose cannon type that might get caught up in something like Coke.

Mom accused of leaving 4 kids alone when she went to bar said she was ‘stressed out'

http://www.wpxi.com/news/mom-accused-of ... /396410571" target="_blank
PITTSBURGH —
Pittsburgh police said an East Liberty woman left her four children alone while she went to a bar.

Officers were called to an apartment on Hays Street shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday after an employee of the building found the children, ages 6, 4, 2 and 1 month, alone in their apartment.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, the children’s mother, 31-year-old Rosa Alvarado, arrived at the apartment about 25 minutes after police.

Officers said she was holding a can of beer and was “highly intoxicated,” according to the criminal complaint.

Alvarado was taken into custody, and the complaint says she told officers, "I am stressed out and I went to the bar drinking."

Alvarado is facing charges of child endangerment and public drunkenness.

The children were placed in protective custody.

Mom accused of putting kids, 3 and 5, in trunk of Corvette

HANOVER, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania mother is accused of stuffing her children, ages 3 and 5, into the trunk of a red Corvette and then riding around town.

Hanover Borough Police pulled over the two-seat sports car on July 10 after getting a 911 call from a person who saw someone placing two children in the car's trunk.

Authorities say the mother, 29-year-old Jessica Reger, was in the passenger seat. She faces two misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The mother of a 10-year-old New Mexico girl who was found dead and dismembered told police she looked for men online and at work to sexually assault her daughter, according to search warrants in the case.

Mom arrested for using car to tow kids

http://registerguard.com/rg/news/local/ ... D=ref_fark

SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield mother is accused of endangering her two children by towing them in a little red plastic wagon behind her car around a roundabout repeatedly Wednesday evening.

Alana Nicole Donahue, 27, was arrested shortly before 8:30 p.m., less than an hour after Springfield police received calls from concerned motorists.

According to Lt. Scott McKee, Donahue told police she “didn’t understand what the problem was because she was only driving 5 mph and she just wanted to show the kids a good time.”

Donahue was not intoxicated, according to McKee.

At least four drivers called police after seeing the woman in a white Ford Taurus pulling the wagon in the traffic circle at South 42nd Street and Jasper Road. The wagon was tied to the vehicle with a strap or similar connector.

The wagon, drivers told police, had two children in it. The children are 3 and 5 years old, according to police dispatch logs.

Drivers reported that the woman was waving vehicles to go around her as she drove in circles in the roundabout and that traffic began to back up. One driver reported nearly hitting the wagon, the police logs show.

According to the logs, several drivers stopped their cars and confronted the mother, who then tried to drive away.

She eventually stopped and put the wagon inside the Taurus and allegedly told one driver to “be an adult about it,” the logs state.

At least one witness took photos and videos of the incident, the logs state.

Mom who was famously arrested for taking her daughter to tanning salon is fuming after the 11-year-old returned from school recess with SUNBURN

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... z4n1295CWI" target="_blank

'Patricia Krentcil, 49, was famously charged with child endangerment for allegedly taking her daughter to a tanning bed when a nurse at the Lincoln Elementary School in Nutley, New Jersey, reported her to the police in 2012.

So when her daughter Anna, 11, came home from school last month with a sunburn, Krentcil was furious.

The mother-of-five, who is looking into suing the school district for neglect, told the New York Post: 'She was totally burned. I packed her [sunscreen] and she came home like a french fry.'

Robert says his wife called him in a such a panic, she could barely get the words out of her mouth.
Their 3-year-old son wasn’t home when she woke the other kids for school Tuesday morning, she told him. The police were on their way to the house to look for him.
But before officers began their search, Robert said, they called headquarters to ask if any stray or wandering children had been located. Turns out a 3-year-old boy had been found the day before at a corn maze in West Jordan.
“We’re working with everybody and we’re thankful that everything went right,” Robert told The Tribune on Thursday.
The boy is back with his family and is fine, Robert told The Tribune on Thursday. The boy’s mother only wanted people to know how much she appreciated the way the Utah Division of Child and Family Services took care of her son Monday night.
Robert asked that his last name not be used. He has a plural family, but says that has nothing to do with why his son was mistakenly left behind. Robert agreed to explain what happened on Monday evening at the Crazy Corn Maze, 8800 S. 4000 West.
For starters, there were a lot of children to keep track of, he said.
Robert and his wife have 14 children. She took 11 of them to the corn maze on the afternoon of Columbus Day. Her sister brought two or three of her own children, Robert said. The combined families were piled into multiple cars.
Between the two sets of kids, Robert said, there were “about four blond-haired boys about the same height.”
When it was time to leave, Robert said, his wife buckled the youngest children into car or booster seats, including the 3-year-old. Then the older children asked if they could have one of the free donuts someone was giving away at the maze.
Robert’s wife said, yes, and the older children got out of the car, he said. His wife waited in the car. There was a line for the donuts, and she waited 15 minutes.
She thought the 3-year-old was in the car with her.
“During that 15 minutes, he must have jumped out,” Robert said.
Robert’s wife and sister-in-law took the remaining children to the house in West Jordan. They watched a scary movie, Robert said, and some of the kids fell asleep. Then his sister-in-law left with her children.
The outing and the movie were diversions from the family’s routine, Robert said. Family members who would have normally missed the 3-year-old didn’t notice he was gone. Robert worked until 9:30 p.m.
Also, Robert said, the boy doesn’t always sleep in his own bed. He often sleeps with an older sibling.
West Jordan police Sgt. Joe Monson said a woman visiting the corn maze found the 3-year-old about 7:30 p.m. Monday. Police were called. When no one could find the parents, the Utah Division of Child and Family Services took the boy overnight.
Monson said the mother called police to report the boy missing at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday.
Robert said police treated the family well. He and his wife cooperated with DCFS when workers there inquired about why the boy had been left behind. There may be some follow-up interviews, Robert said.
“I’m mostly relieved,” Robert said Thursday. “It’s nice that there were people there that were able to help. The first outcome that we want is for him to be OK and safe.
“It was an oversight that we learned a lot from,” Robert added.

I used to watch a lot of the old Cops TV show. So many episodes were filmed in Brevard county.

Most if not all hospitals will take newborns no questions.
